Miami Limo--I was ripped off I need a recommendation

I booked a limo service in Oct for my March 23 Symphony of the seas cruise. I was surprised when they billed my credit card the full amount. I called to confirm with them yesterday and they ran my credit card for over 1000. I am waiting for them to return my phone call and obviously I will cancel completely.

I would love for someone to recommenced a car service to take us from Miami Airport to our hotel. This is our 40th anniversary and we want to splurge!!

We used larry's limos in February for 3 way transfer and they were great - can recommend them

I know those limo services can be very expensive. We often use the cruise line transfers who send a limo to the airport when there is just us or one other couple. Charges usually are a lot less than it would cost us to take a cab. Of course we don't receive all the amenities that I guess the real limo outfits provide, like booze. If one is just going from the airport in Miami to a local hotel, wow, what are they going to provide in those few minutes driving time for a G note?

Last fall we flew into Ft Lauderdale but our cruise ship left from Miami two days after. The cruise line was providing us with a night in a Miami hotel the next day. So we stayed in a Lauderdale airport hotel and took a cab over to Miami the next noon. We guessed it would be about $45.00, but it was a bit more. However, we told them we had "cruise luggage" so they sent a limo.

The original quote was only 115. they added an extra 1 at the beginning.. it could have been honest mistake but I canceled completely. Now to find another.

It did show as pending and my credit card co can't do anything til it posts. The limo company did return my call and said they already reversed the 1000, they input an extra 1 at the beginning. I also canceled the previously paid. It had cleared Oct 30th. It really wasnt a lot of money considering we would require 2 Ubers. Thanks for your response!

That limo would be out of my league.

Just to add what BD said, depending on your credit limit, even if its just a "credit hold" that could screw you up big time, considering what else may be on that card re your cruise. Hope that limo can float, because if I ever paid that for a limo ride, i'd want meals, and a pool included...oh wait, that sounds like a cruise package to me...good luck...

Just out of curiosity - did they actually bill that amount, or just put a credit hold on that amount?

Many companies will put a credit hold on an amount of money to ensure the funds are available when the charges are made. Although it may look like a charge, the company does not receive the money, nor are you charged interest. This is a common practice that generally goes unnoticed by many.

If they did in fact charge $1000, I would definitely challenge them if that is that greater than the agreed amount. If so, I would also consider filing a report with the Better Business Bureau.

Don't have a recommendation for a limo service, but don't wait for them to return your call. call the c/c co and dispute the charge immediately. It can be done from your pc as well. happens all the time.
