I've been on three Celebrity Cruises and one Disney cruise. It seems every cruise I've looked into offers a day in port and then cruising to the next port. I would like to find one that allows an overnight in these cities. We never seem to actually get to know these places, dine at the local restaurants or enjoy their entertainment.
Anyone have any experiences that would come close?

Look at cruise to Bermuda. In particular a 7 day to Bermuda. Most of the cruise lines run them from many ports in the north east. The 7 day Bermuda cruises usually will port for 3 days and 2 nights at Kings Warf Bermuda. The shorer 4 or 5 day ones do not over night.

The first page I was going to post identifying all the cruise lines with overnight stays was from a site that cruiseline.com does not like to be posted here, so I deleted that reference. I did a generic search on cruise lines offering overnight stays, and many more than I expected showed up in the search results.
My dream is an overnight in Istanbul which was discussed. Someday !!
