Late September excursions?

We caught a 5-day bargain on Princess for the end of September. Any suggestions for excursions in Juneau and Ketchikan?

Yes, I've been doing my research and we bought travel insurance and have clothes for all types of weather. Now I want to hear from real people who have real experiences. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I've been to Alaska 14 times, and one of my favorite excursions in Juneau is this whale watching trip as they use smaller (4o pax) boats compared to 400 pax on the cruise line excursions. We've seen humpbacks, orcas, seals, and tons of other wildlife on every trip. Highly recommend!! https://bit.ly/3LOX5Y3

We enjoy the ATV excursion in Ketchikan - if it's raining (which it almost always does in Ketchikan), all the better! It's a guided self-drive excursion, 2 people per ATV going on old abandoned logging trails. All gear provided, but do bring gloves. You can book it through the ship or independently. Stunning views from the top - we've seen whales several times.

Last week is the only time we've not done it while in Ketchikan - turned out to be the only dry port all week, lol.

Husband and sister really enjoy the crab and chowder at Annabelle's.

I am monitoring this Thread as well as I have an Alaska Cruise in Sept as well (23) Need all the info

Wow, some of those look pretty fun, and I like the idea of smaller boats. It was fun reading reviews from September 2019 and realizing that the weather can change on a moment's notice. And afternoon excursions will be a little clearer than morning. Good to know, since we will be there in the PM.

There is a great selection of excursions in the Shipmate app. I highly recommend whale watching in Juneau through Shore Excursion Group, NOT the cruise line. The cruise line tour is a large boat with tons of other people, the SEG tour is a small intimate group, and you get to see a lot more! Heer is the link where we book our excursions with SEG https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/?click=40821

We sailed in early September and went on a salmon bake excurion. It was drizzly and cool. Don't know how much the weather will change in the time difference. Hope you enjoy your cruise, it's still quite beatiful that time of year.

Has the cruise line advertised any excursions? It's hard to advise not knowing what's offered.
