We are booked for July 21st. Please tell me I can find some places on the ship where kids are not going to be. This is our second cruise and our first Royal Caribbean cruise. I saw where the huge ship has an area call The Solarium, but no pool? I love kids, but I should have thought about this being summer and all.... oh well. Any tips appreciated. I got the deluxe drink package so maybe the bars will be adults only.

I've sailed on several Royal Caribbean ships in many different classes. I've never found one that didn't have a pool in the Solarium. Some were indoor, some out, but all of them had one!
Radiance of the Seas: indoor
Explorer of the Seas: Outdoor
Vision of the Seas: Indoor
Liberty of the Seas: Outdoor.
Do keep in mind that in bad weather they sometimes allow kids in to the solarium to enjoy the indoor pool for a few hours (but not all day).

Depends on the RCL ship as to what the Solarium has and who it is open to. I can only speak for Anthem and it has a series of beautiful small cascading pools for soaking in (too small to swim in) and is open to all adults. I understand that on the Oasis class the Solarium is only open to adults with a set crown & anchor level.
Anytime schools are out you have the potential for lots of kids on any of the big 3 cruise lines, Carnival, Royal and NCL, plus of course the Disney CL. We tend to cruise when schools are in session on these lines, but even then there are children on board, not as many, but always some. Because of the included on board activities centers offered by these lines there is enough attraction for parents and grandparents to sail with young kids.
If looking for cruise lines with a reputation for having less kids on board anytime of the year than the 4 lines mentioned above you need to look at Princess, Holland America, Celebrity, AIDA Cruises, Azamara, Costa Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Cunard, MSC Cruises, Oceania Cruises, or Regent Seven Seas. But on several of these you lose the activity involvement attractions like mini golf, waterslides, rock walls, sky bikes, rope course, and surfing simulators. Instead they offer things more like cultural enrichment seminars, enhanced dining, golf simulators, and classes on things like cooking, painting, digital photography, or ballroom dancing,
Viking Ocean and Virgin Voyages are reputed to be for adults only, but are very small lines as of now (only 1 or 2 ships). As they build or convert more ships they might decide to include more of the activities that are popular to adults from the big 3 cruise lines.

What ship are you sailing? Some ships' Solarium has a small pool in addition to the hot tubs, but not all of them.
