Have, or have no passport

Just in case someone may be going through what I have been going through, I wanted to share my results with you. I'm not saying this will work for you, as it depends upon where you are leaving from and returning to with the ship. I just wanted to "make sure" about the "ports" too. I have been very concerned about having a passport before we do our cruise the first part of January, and have received several suggestions. In fact, I have tried more than one time to reach the Passport office main number, and I'm hitting a brick wall in that direction! I have seen where several people HAVE received their passports, and all mine says is "In Process." In the meantime, I contacted my TA, and they checked with RCL, and they said I would be fine with my birth certificate (raised seal) and Drivers license with the star. We will be flying into San Juan, and cruising out of San Juan, and flying back to San Juan. Although I have already sent off to renew my passport, it has not arrived. I just decided to contact RCL again for myself, and ask about the "ports" that I would be going to, and if I would run into problems there. The customer rep put me on hold and came back and said, NO, I should be fine there too, with just my birth certificate and Drivers License with the star.
