Cruising for three

OK, team.. bear with me on this one.

My wife and her two sisters want to cruise for the middle sisters 65th Birthday.

They want one room.

With me so far?

Cruise lines have all sorts of perks for two cruisers, but for a third person in the suite, they can get a discount, but no drink package or no gratuities or other perks. Am I right?

Now the cruise lines say that if two people in the cabin have a drink package , the third person must have a package. But they don't offer it as a perk?

Same with the tips idea. some get as a perk in the room but not all?---You following me?

Why is it so hard for the lines to give a price on three per room, whether an inside to balcony, with all the perks, booze, all tips, wifi if needed and maybe excursions. A price per each person.. bottom line---is that too much to ask?

I know this group is extremely knowledgeable and supportive --help me from going insane.

JohnGold, please don’t go insane! Grab your clubs and go to your favorite course and play! As far as your dilemma, I truly believe at times cruise lines can’t see nose in spite of their face. They have a script and will stick to it. I personally think they are just trying to make a bigger profit off the 3rd passenger. It is frustrating for sure!

Some cruise lines have an offer where 3rd or 4th passenger in a cabin are free. In those cases they make up for it with other revenue grabs such as drinks etc. When all is said and done the bottom line for 3 cruisers all in will be about the same just will show costs or charges dived out in a different way. The management and marketers know exactly what they are doing and they have a set revenue they need. It is all just a matter of how they hide and slide the bean in the cup.

Unfortunately courses do not open for another 2 to 3 months weather depending. But I agree on the profit idea though.
