Christmas Market Cruise - Western Europe

Hi All,

This is our First Ever Cruise and i'm after some advice please.

We've booked a Christmas Market Cruise to Western Europe stopping at Hamburg, Rotterdam and Zeebrugge. On the P & O Cruise portal where your booking and itinerary is located, I can see that they charge an extra £40-£50pp for a tour to the markets, there's a large group of us going so this is an extra £1,800 on top of the cruise. When you go on the cruise do you have to book these tours or are the Christmas Markets close enough to the ports that shuttle buses can be used?

Thanks

It depends on where the trips are taking you. With P&O there is normally a shuttle bus which will take you to the nearest town (for a fee is you went for the saver fair). Both Hamburg and Rotterdam i believe you will berth close so the shuttle should take you in, not sure where the Markets will be but i would have thought close enough to walk around or get the local transport, however Zeebrugge is normally the port for Bruge which is not a walk away, you will have to get either the train (quite easy) or there is a bus but this will be extra, but once in Bruge i am sure the market will be easily found.
