Best Alaska Cruise?

Hello friends! I am trying to plan a cruise for my dad (50) and myself (29 female) to Alaska in September. We have never been on a cruise and we are looking for fun, friendly, and lots of good food! Any recommendations? I'm currently looking at booking Quantum through Costco. Any tips or tricks, or better ships, or anything, please share with us!

Quantum has a lot of amenities/activities so the ship will not disappoint. There is a movable observation bulb on an arm that can swing out above and over the ship to add to the scenic overview. That being said, there will be lots kids if you sail during summer break. You'll want to get off the ship and see Alaska - its the last frontier. Not sure if you're itinerary allows, but a Denali land tour allows you to really enjoy Alaska wilderness and wildlife. You can usually get a bus, train (or both) tour through the heart of Alaska and stay at some very nice resorts along the way.

Carnival has an Alaskan Cruise out of Long Beach CA in Sept (we are scheduled for it in 2023) Its longer and a different port than SF or Seattle Im sure you'll have a great time, enjoy

Princess and Holland America are the experts when it comes to Alaska and I'm saying this with over 20 cruises on Carnival as well as having sailed Royal, NCL, and Celebrity multiple times. Hopefully you have something booked at this time since excursions for the most part need to be booked before you get on the ship since popular ones will sell out prior to the cruise.

Been to Alaska twice on Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend out of Seattle. We love the close up excursion of the glaciers. We had a Motorcycle excursion of Skagway, took a train tour, just sign up for all that time allows.

Thank you for the tips! I appreciate it! Dad is excited, we'll find something fun I'm sure!

Bree, the wife, and I cruise as often as work permits. We prefer Carnival for various personal reasons. Everyone will tell you what they prefer about other cruise lines. Each cruise line offers perks, points, stock, room upgrades, and premium travel locations. This list goes on and on. I promise you this. Once you're on a cruise you will be hooked!. my tip to you is to stay away from spring break. I lived in Alaska for several years. whichever cruise line you choose, the excursion makes your trip everlasting. Minning, whale watching, bears watching or just walking the town. I'm sure your Dad will enjoy it especially when he's traveling with his lovely daughter! Memories for him will last a lifetime. good luck.
