Love on the Lido Deck

Every love story has to start somewhere; for some, it started on a cruise ship. Traveling by yourself or with some friends/family, when you are single on a cruise, there are many people to meet. As they say, single and ready to mingle! Plus, what’s better than finding a little vacation romance? Most onboard romances end when the cruise is over or shortly after when long-distance becomes too much of a hassle or too expensive. However, there are some meant-to-be couples who found romance on the high seas. Love on the Lido Deck is possible, and for all the hopeless romantics, get ready to fall in love.

One couple in particular jumped out at me last week on social media. When scrolling through a post in the Carnival Elation - Port Canaveral Facebook group tugged at my and thousands of others heart strings. Member Ted Derloshon enlisted the group to help find “Honey,” the matchmaker who lives in South Carolina. His post:

Carnival cruisers jumped into action, culling their friend list and other Carnival groups to find the matchmaker. Now, I figured this would be a quick and easy find. Well, so far, Honey has yet to be located. Some of the comments on the thread show how invested in this love story members have become. 

If anyone knows a person named Honey residing in SC who cruises Carnival, join the conversation on Facebook and help Ted find his personal cupid, and most of all give all of us following this story some closure!

In reading through all the posts in the thread, a few members reported they also found love on the Carnival Elation (see above).  I don’t know what is happening with that ship, but it seems like it’s truly the new Love Boat, with many couples finding onboard Carnival Elation.

I guess it just goes to show that you never know when you will be struck by Cupid’s arrow and find love on the Lido deck onboard your next cruise!
