What’s New for American Cruise Lines in 2025
Looking to cruise closer to home in 2025? Search no further than American Cruise Lines. In the coming year, the cruise operator will have new ships on the water and 50 different itineraries, including a new 51-Day Great United States voyage, the longest river cruise in the country.
2025 offerings from American Cruise Lines will feature an array of exclusive U.S. cruises, unavailable with any other Line, including bucket-list adventures exploring U.S. National Parks. The line will introduce new cruises on the Mississippi River, the Columbia and Snake Rivers, the Potomac River, and the Hudson River. In addition will be more U.S. coastal cruises, which have access to the protected waterways of the East and West Coasts.
In total for 2025, American Cruise Lines will visit 125 U.S. ports of call in 35 states. New ports on the schedule include Port Canaveral, West Palm Beach, Florida, Portsmouth (NH), Cleveland (MS), Port Royal (SC), Alexandria, Lewiston (ID), Madison (IN), Sag Harbor, and Albany.
Convenient 2025 Drive-to-Cruise ports include Boston, Providence, Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Portland, Seattle, and Juneau, Alaska.
New itineraries by Region for 2025
New England & Hudson River
American Cruise Lines will offer a new 9-Day Maine Coast & Harbors cruise, between Portland and Bangor, Maine. This new itinerary includes a special sailing on June 16 that will include a special ANTIQUES ROADSHOW event.
In addition, American will introduce a summer season of 8-Day Hudson River Summer Classic cruises, sailing between New York City and Albany, New York. In September, the cruise line will continue to sail its popular Fall Foliage Hudson River cruises between NYC & Albany.
Chesapeake Bay
American Cruise Lines will introduce a 3rd itinerary in this region, an 8-day Potomac River & Chesapeake Bay cruise between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. American is the only cruise line with access to dock in Washington D.C. and has done so for 80 years.
2025 cruises exploring the Chesapeake Bay will include the 11-Day American Revolution cruises, roundtrip from Washington, D.C., and 8-Day Chesapeake Bay cruises, roundtrip from Baltimore.
Florida & South Carolina
American Cruise Lines will offer a new longer Florida cruise, a 15-day Grand Florida Coast & Keys cruise, between Amelia Island and St. Petersburg. This voyage explores the entire coast of Florida and includes an overnight visit to Key West and explorations of Dry Tortugas
and Everglades National Parks. Additionally, American will continue to offer its shorter 8-day Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises and 8-day Great Rivers of Florida cruises.
Also new in this region for 2025 from American are 9-day Southeast Sea Islands cruise (formerly Historic South & Golden Isles). This itinerary includes new adventures on shore and an included hotel stay in Charleston or Amelia Island.
Mississippi River & Tributaries
In 2025, American will feature 5 riverboats and 12 itineraries on the Mississippi River and tributaries, from 8 to 22 days in length, including cruises on the (Ohio) Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers.
For 2025, American Cruise Lines will introduce a new 12-day Mississippi Explorer cruise, between New Orleans and Memphis. The itinerary allows for more time to explore along
the Lower River, with new stops in Tunica and Cleveland, Mississippi.
On the Ohio/Tennessee/Cumberland Rivers, American Cruise Lines will offer 2 cruises on the Ohio in 2025. One voyage is a 9-day Ohio River cruise between Louisville and Pittsburgh, and a new 16-Day Grand Ohio River cruise, between Pittsburgh and St. Louis.
Exclusive itineraries in this region include 12-Day Great Smoky Mountains National Parks cruises, Music Cities cruises, and holiday or theme cruises celebrating Mark Twain to Christmas.
Columbia & Snake Rivers
American Cruise Line will have 5 riverboats cruising the Columbia and Snake Rivers next year,
including a new 7-Day Columbia River Gorge cruise, roundtrip from Portland.
In addition, American will add more dates for popular 16-Day National Parks and Legendary Rivers cruises, plus several other new itineraries.
Alaska & Puget Sound
American will double its capacity in Alaska in 2025. The line’s 170-passenger American Constitution will join sister ship American Constellation, sailing the Line’s five Alaska itineraries from May to September 2025. This will increase American’s capacity in Puget Sound for sailing spring and fall dates of the line’s 8-day Puget Sound & San Juan Islands cruises from April through October, roundtrip from Seattle.
American’s 3rd ship on the West Coast in 2025, the 90-passenger American Spirit, will continue
sailing the Line’s Puget Sound cruises throughout the summer of 2025.
U.S. National Parks
In 2025, American Cruise Lines will offer a selection of itineraries that combine river and land cruising to popular U.S. National Parks. Featured voyages include:
- 16-Day National Parks & Legendary Rivers: Includes a 9-day cruise on the Columbia and Snake Rivers and 7 days of guided exploration in 3 National Parks - Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. Available from Jackson (WY) or Portland.
- 12-Day Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Includes a cruise on the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers and 2 days of explorations in Great Smoky National Park. Available from Knoxville or Nashville.
- 19-Day Grand Alaska National Parks: Includes a 12-day Alaska cruise and 7 days of guided exploration in Denali and Kenai Fjords National Parks, and scenic cruising in Glacier Bay National Park, the Inside Passage, and Frederick Sound. Available from Fairbanks to Juneau.
- 16-Day Alaska National Parks: Includes a 9-day Alaska cruise and 7 days of guided exploration in Denali and Kenai Fjords National Parks, and cruising in Glacier Bay. Available from Fairbanks to Juneau.
Longest River Cruise in the U.S.
American Cruise Lines will offer two of the longest river cruises in the U.S. in 2025. These include a 51-day Great United States cruise from Portland to Boston, and a 36-day Civil War Battlefields cruise from New Orleans to Gettysburg. Both 2025 Extended Cruises include sailing aboard three different ships and riverboats and feature onboard experts and local guides throughout.
The 51-Day Great United States adventure explores 15 U.S. states, coast to coast, including cruising the entire Mississippi River. This voyage sails from May 30th to July 19, 2025. The 36-Day Civil War Battlefield itinerary explores 12 states and 20 Civil War Battlefields. Sails May 6th to June 10, 2025.
Both cruise fares include all hotels, flights, and transfers between cruise segments, excursions & entertainment, Wi-Fi, dining, beverages, gratuities, port charges, and special gifts for guests.
New Ships for 2025
American Cruise Lines will have a total fleet of 21 small ships and riverboats sailing in 2025, including two new 125-passenger Patriot Class ships - American Patriot and American Pioneer. These new small ships will sail a variety of exclusive coastal cruises in New England, Chesapeake Bay, and Florida.
Each of these vessels has five decks, 56 private balcony staterooms and suites, and many amenities such as top deck Skywalk walking tracks, fitness rooms, indoor and outdoor lounges, cafés, main dining restaurants, and more.
In 2026, American Maverick and American Ranger, and the new riverboat, American Encore, will make their debut for American Cruise Lines.
Bookings
All of American Cruise Line’s 50+ U.S. itineraries are open to book through 2027. Both river and coastal itineraries offer an all-inclusive onboard experience and feature over
400 exciting shore excursions across the country.
Onboard vessels, guests enjoy complimentary onboard enrichment and entertainment, dining, wine & beer with lunch and dinner, a festive cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres each evening, Starlink Wi-Fi, and port charges.
Many of American’s cruises also have included hotel stays, as well as extended pre-cruise packages for purchase. All River and Coastal cruises include flat-rate domestic airfare, with complimentary domestic airfare available on select cruise dates throughout the year.
