Second Crystal Ship Completes Sea Trials

Crystal’s second ship is getting ready for its big relaunch. This past week, Crystal Symphony successfully completed sea trials before its inaugural sailing from Greece in September. 

Crystal Symphony has been going through an extensive refurbishment at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. During the recent sea trials, officers, technicians, and engineers tested the ship’s navigation, as well as technical and mechanical systems. 

“Following the launch of Crystal Serenity on July 31^st, we are thrilled that Crystal Symphony has completed sea trials and is one step closer to returning to service in a few short weeks,” said Senior Vice President of Marine Operations Roberto Fazi. “To be able to relaunch our brand and two ships within such a short amount of time is completely unprecedented, and we could not have done it without the amazing work of our leadership and teams, both on board and shoreside. We also wouldn’t be here without our partners at Fincantieri who worked around the clock to deliver this beautiful ship on time.” 

Like fellow vessel Crystal Serenity, which made its debut on July 31 sailing from Marseille, Crystal Symphony has been going through a complete overhaul. Guests traveling on the ship will find upgraded and redesigned staterooms, with more space than ever before. Dining venues have also received a refresh. New specialty eatery Osteria d’Ovidio pays homage to Crystal’s Executive Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio and his family’s Northern Italian heritage. 

In the activities department, guests can enjoy a cutting-edge onboard wellness program at the new Aurōra Spa. Other new onboard activities are set to include a new pickleball court, entertainment, and special events.

Crystal Symphony will sail its inaugural cruise from Athens, Greece, on September 1, 2023. The ship will spend the remainder of the summer in Europe before repositioning to Africa in October,  and then sailing voyages in Australia and Asia.
