Luxury operator Crystal has announced that it plans to introduce four new vessels to its fleet - two ocean ships and two expedition vessels.

This announcement comes just on the heels of the cruise line restarting passenger operations, following its purchase by A&K Travel Group Ltd. Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, shared the news during a preview voyage of Crystal Serenity and announced that the brand is currently in the process of working with its advisors, lenders and export credit agents to sign a memorandum of agreement with two European shipbuilders for the four new vessels.

"We have ambitious growth plans for Crystal and are proud of what we have accomplished with the relaunch of Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony in just under a year following the purchase of the brand. We are now thrilled to formally announce that we will be growing our fleet and continue to offer the most exceptional cruising experiences in the industry,” said Lewis.

Crystal Relaunch

Today, Crystal Serenity will set sail for its inaugural voyage departing from Marseille, France following an extensive refurbishment. The ship will spend the rest of the summer in the Mediterranean, then reposition to North America come September for Canadian and Caribbean sailings for the remainder of 2023. In 2024 will sail the cruise line’s 2024 World Cruise.

Sister ship Crystal Symphony will restart operations again, and depart from Athens, Greece on September 1 for its inaugural sailing.

The new Crystal brand has spent the past few months refurbishing the two ships. The vessels will feature larger redesigned contemporary staterooms, eleven distinct dining options, and cutting-edge wellness programs from the spa and gym.
