Princess Cruises’ Star Princess to Feature Expanded Dining Areas and More
Princess Cruises shared new features coming to Star Princess, its second Sphere Class ship. The vessel is a sister ship to the Sun Princess, which debuted sailing from Fort Lauderdale just last week. The new Star Princess will offer several unique enhancements, including non-smoking casino areas, expanded dining venues, and leisure experiences.
The 4,300-guest, 178,000-ton Star Princess will also be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), reflecting the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Similar to Sun Princess, Star Princess will also boast cutting-edge amenities like The Dome (the first geodesic dome at sea) and The Sphere (a glass-enclosed Piazza).
“After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president. “From expanded non-smoking casino areas to new spaces for relaxation and recreation, Star Princess will deliver an unforgettable vacation for all when she launches in fall 2025.”
Among the new highlights of Star Princess will be an expanded non-smoking casino area. Guests who prefer a smoke-free environment can enjoy 68 additional slot machines in newly designated non-smoking casino sections.
Another expanded area for Star Princess is the expansion of O’Malley’s Irish Pub. The venue will have 32 more seats, accommodating more guests looking to enjoy Irish food, live music, and drinks. Another expanded venue will be Love by Britto, the art-inspired dining venue which is a collaboration between artist Romero Britto and Chef Rudi Sodamin. The eatery will add 20 more seats for guests to enjoy its unique seven-course fusion menu.
New to Star Princess is the SkyDeck Sports Court & Track. This space for active guests will offer sports courts for pickleball and basketball, a jogging track, a splash pad, and shaded areas for relaxation.
Star Princess offers accommodations to suit every traveler’s preferences, with 2,157 total staterooms, including 80 suites, 123 mini-suites, over 1,000 balcony cabins, and 100 connecting rooms. Guests looking for the ultimate in luxury can stay in The Sanctuary Collection, the ship-within-a-ship exclusive area. Available to guests in suites, mini-suites, and 12 deluxe balcony cabins, this area includes private dining and relaxation areas, with all guests receiving the Princess Premier bundle.
The new Star Princess will begin its inaugural season in the Caribbean in the fall of 2025 before repositioning to Alaska for the spring of 2026. Bookings for Star Princess through Sept. 2026 are now open.
