Princess Cruises Shares New Details on Upcoming Ship Sun Princess
Princess Cruises has shared new details about its upcoming ship, Sun Princess. The vessel, which makes its debut in 2024, will be the cruise line’s largest and most innovative ship to date.
Sun Princess is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. When complete, the ship will accommodate up to 4,000 guests.
As announced last fall, Sun Princess will be designed unlike any Princess ship before, with expansive venues, multi-story dining rooms, and next-level staterooms. It will offer two new unique spaces coming to the Sphere class of vessels - a Piazza area and a multi-level glass Dome. While introducing the new class of ships for the cruise line, Sun Princess remains true to the smooth clean lines and design aesthetics guests have been accustomed to with Princess Cruises’ ships.

"With the new platform and size of Sun Princess, we're uniquely able to refresh venues we know our guests love and expand upon, redesign and elevate them to the next level. We know our sun-inspired designs will exceed expectations and elevate the entire Princess experience."
New announced highlighted features for Sun Princess include a multi-level dining area and an area theatre.
Sun Princesses’ Horizons Dining Room will offer a three-story dining venue, the first of this type for Princess Cruises. Three decks will each have their own personalities and designs, offering separate dining experiences ranging in levels of formality.
The Princess Arena will be a contemporary space, with versatile arrangements and designed with advanced technology. Guests will be drawn to a stunning visual above the center stage which can become part of the show. The theatre offers moveable seats and a capacity of a little more than 1,000 guests total.
Other shipboard dining and activity of Sun Princess are set to include:
Alfredo’s Pizzeria – A returning guest-favorite, Alfredo’s Pizzeria on Sun Princess will have an open kitchen design New to the kitchen is a professional, open-mouth oven that reaches 968 degrees.
Princess Casino – The Princess Casino on Sun Princess is set to be the largest Princess casino in both size and number of gaming positions. The casino will open a spacious design, with over 200 of the newest and most popular slots and video poker games.
Crown Grill – Another returning favorite, Crown Grill on Sun Princess combines a classic steakhouse with a modern design featuring leather booths, circular seating and modern artwork custom designed for this restaurant.
Sabatini's Italian Trattoria – A newly imagined Sabatini’s will serve handmade pasta courses prepared fresh daily.
Princess Live! – Combining the design elements of Princess Live! and guest favorite Explorer’s Lounge, Sun Princess guests will enjoy game shows, trivia, and more.
The Shops of Princess – This space is to offer five retail locations, plus an art gallery.
Additional spaces with new designs, signage and décor will include Crooner’s, Wheelhouse Bar, International Cafe, Good Spirits and Gelateria.
Sun Princess will also feature the exclusive Princess Medallion experience for guests. The ship will be the first Princess ship and one of 11 new vessels in the Carnival Corporation fleet powered by Liquified Natural Gas.
