Oceania Cruises has announced Marina will undergo an extensive, all-encompassing refurbishment come May 2024. The 1,240-passenger vessel will receive several new amenities, including updates to its dining program.

Marina is the last of Oceania’s fleet to be refurbished. The line’s eighth ship, Allura, will launch in Spring 2025.

Among the highlights of Marina’s update will be the addition of three new dining options - Aquamar Kitchen, an expanded poolside ice cream parlor, and a casual al fresco Italian trattoria.

Marina is a ship designed by foodies, built by foodies, for foodies,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “We are renowned for serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea, and this is not just a tagline, it is a mantra which we have built the business around. Food is the foundation of what we do onboard each of our ships, and globally, in the destinations we visit.

Dining

According to Oceania, Marina (and sister ship RivieraI) were the ‘very first true foodie ships in the world’. These vessels were the first ships ever to offer onboard cooking school, with more galley space and more fresh food storage than any other ship. Oceania prides itself on having the highest percentage of culinary personnel devoted to the dining experience than any other cruise company, with one chef for every ten guests.

Marina’s new Aquamar Kitchen (which first debuted this year on Vista) features wellness-inspired menus. The eatery serves smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and energy bowls for breakfast. At lunch, guests can enjoy offerings of avocado toast, salads, Impossible burgers, and more. Aquamar Kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch, and as with all the ship’s eateries will be complimentary for guests.

Another new eatery coming to Marina is an all-day ice cream parlor coming to Marina’s pool deck. The venue will serve ice cream from Humphry Slocombe, as well as milkshakes and smoothies.

Waves Grill will transform into an al fresco trattoria featuring freshly made pizzas, grilled Italian salads, fresh focaccia, burrata, and desserts. The eatery will be open for dinner service.

With the addition of Aquamar Kitchen, Oceania Cruises’ pairing dinners featured in La Reserve will be showcased in Privée, Marina’s private dining space. This space will offer guest-favorite paring menus of La Reserve, including the Odyssey Menu and the Dom Pérignon Experience.

Public Areas & Staterooms

Marina’s private and public spaces will also receive a refresh, creating a radiant new ambiance. All upper suites will be reimagined with a lighter, brighter, and seemingly more spacious look.

Marina’s Penthouse Suites will be completely refurbished with custom furniture, new closets and cabinetry, new carpets and upholstery, updated, lighting, and several guest-centric amenities such as more outlets and USB ports. Bathrooms will receive an upgrade with restyled designs, including Italian marble throughout, more drawer space, and oversized showers.

Public spaces (including Martinis, Horizons, The Grand Dining Room, and Library) will be updated with new carpets and upholstery. Steakhouse Polo Grill will also be enhanced with new carpet, window treatments, and new dining chairs.
