Oceania Cruises today announced that its eighth cruise ship is to be named Allura. The ship is currently under construction by shipbuilder Fincantieri S.p.A. in Italy.

Allura will make its debut in spring 2025, and will be the second in the ‘Allura’ class of vessels. It is to be the sister ship to the upcoming ship Vista, which will begin sailing this May.

According to the cruise line, the name Allura “represents the eternal call of the mysterious and the unknown”, just like the destinations to which it will call on in future voyages.

“At Oceania Cruises, we are always looking for ways to evolve, elevate and modernize our offerings to continuously surprise and delight our discerning guests as they enjoy immersive new experiences,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “We are thrilled with the incredible demand we have witnessed for Allura’s sister ship, Vista, with her 2023 maiden season already sold out, and we know Allura will be equally as popular with our guests.

Measuring approximately 67,000 tons, Allura will have the capacity to accommodate 1,200 guests and a staff of 800 officers and crew.

Like other Oceania ships, Allura will offer ‘The Finest Cuisine at Sea’, personalized service, and exquisite furnishings/decor throughout the ship. Shipboard highlights are set to include inventive new eateries Ember and Aquamar Kitchen, both of which are also on sister vessel Vista. The ship will also offer the largest standard staterooms for Oceania, as well as a new Chef’s Studio.

Alluras inaugural season will feature calls to destinations in Europe and the Americas. Itineraries will be unveiled at a later date this spring by Oceania before they go on sale in summer 2023.
