Norwegian to Debut Second Episode of ‘EMBARK’ Series

Norwegian Cruise Line is set to air the second episode of its five-part docuseries, ‘EMBARK - The Series’, which chronicles the cruise line’s return to sailing. Entitled ‘Second to None’, the episode is slated to debut on Thursday, May 20 at 8 PM EST. On the program, fans of Norwegian can expect to learn about the steps that the line is working through to resume cruising operations this summer. 

“The first episode of ‘EMBARK – The Series’ set the stage for what viewers can expect throughout the five-part series, and episode two will continue to bring viewers along for an honest look at the future of cruising as it unfolds,” said Norwegian Cruise Line President & CEO Harry Sommer. “The most exciting part is that we are filming each episode in real-time, so viewers are truly experiencing decisions regarding our return to service as they’re being made.”

In this new episode, viewers will get an update on what types of health and safety protocols are being put in process. Norwegian will also showcase the steps they are taking to preserve the familiar cruise experience guests are familiar with while blending in these new safety measures. 

Viewers will get a special behind-the-scenes look at how the line is getting its private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, ready for guests to return once again.  

Also featured on this new episode is a conversation with John Kristiansen’s Custom Costume Shop in New York City, the costumerie of Norwegian Cruise Line’s shows. Kristiansen will share his story about how the temporary pause of the entertainment and cruise industries has impacted his team and operations. Viewers will also be treated to a private tasting of the new menu for Le Bistro, as well as thoughts from company leaders such as Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ President and Chief Executive Officer Frank Del Rio. 

The first episode of ‘EMBARK - The Series’ debuted on April 15, 2021, and to date has been viewed by over 700,000 Norwegian fans. Entitled the ‘Great Cruise Comeback’ the episode gave an overarching look at where the line is at as it prepares for its full relaunch.
