New Vegan Menus Coming to Carnival Cruise Line Ships

Carnival Cruise Line has announced it will expand its dining room options with the addition of new vegan menus.

These new dining options will first be implemented on Carnival Freedom (homeporting in Port Canaveral) and Carnival Horizon (homeporting in Miami). Vegan menus will be implemented on all ships in the Carnival fleet in a phased approach throughout the end of the year. Vegan menus will offer a selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts that are entirely prepared without the use of animal products.

“Plant-based food options are a rising preference on our ships just as they are on land, and so the new dishes we’re introducing are a direct response to that shift,” said Richard Morse, senior vice president of food and beverage at Carnival Cruise Line. “Our skilled chefs work to accommodate all dietary needs and preferences, but building on our vegan offerings and emphasizing them with specific menus will help to make ordering easier in the dining room and preparation more efficient in the galley.”

Following is a look at the new vegan menu options being introduced by Carnival.

Some of these dishes have recently been piloted and tested on Carnival menus on Carnival Magic. Following Carnival Horizon and Carnival Freedom’s implementation of the menus in September, Carnival will introduce vegan options to Carnival Valor, Carnival Radiance, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Panorama, and Mardi Gras.

By the end of October, the new vegan dishes will become available on Carnival Celebration, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Glory, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Vista, Carnival Breeze, Carnival Sunshine, and Carnival Elation. Carnival Paradise and Carnival Spirit will introduce the menus by the end of November, and Carnival Legend, Carnival Venezia, and Carnival Jubilee will follow, rolling out vegan menus before the end of December 2023.

Outside of the new vegan menu, Carnival is rolling out a number of other new dishes to its regular dining room menus. This includes a number of dishes being curated by Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Lagasse.
