MSC Cruises is making a big splash in the Big Apple. Today, the cruise line docked MSC Meraviglia at its new homeport at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

The megaship will sail year-round from New York City to the Bahamas, Florida, Bermuda, and Canada/New England. New York City becomes MSC Cruises’ third homeport in the United States, and represents the first time the line will offer year-round cruises from the Northeast.

Itineraries from New York on MSC Meraviglia will include:

  • The Bahamas and Florida – 7- to 11-night sailings, visiting Miami, Port Canaveral, Nassau, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Cozumel, or Costa Maya.
  • Bermuda – Starting in August 2023, guests can enjoy 5- and 6-night sailings to Kings Wharf in Bermuda, with multiple days docked in port.
  • Canada and New England – For the fall season, MSC Meraviglia will sail 10- and 11-night cruises to Newport, Boston, Portland, Saint John, Halifax, Charlottetown, and Sydney.

“When we chose New York as the next step in our North American expansion, we knew that MSC Meraviglia would be the perfect ship, given her versatility and offerings for a wide variety of climates. She’s big and innovative, she offers something for everyone, and now she’s more accessible than ever for our guests in and around New York,” said Rubén Rodríguez, President, MSC Cruises USA. We’re thrilled to give guests from the Northeast a direct link to our private destination—Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve—which is part of our fantastic itineraries to The Bahamas. As the year goes on, they’ll have other options like spending several days exploring Bermuda, or heading north for the breathtaking fall foliage in Canada and New England."

MSC Meraviglia is one of the world’s largest ships, and is known as ‘The Ship for All Seasons’, with expansive indoor/outdoor public spaces, and a pool deck with a retractable roof. The ship is 1,036 feet long and 213 feet tall, with 19 decks and a capacity of more than 5,700 guests.

Ship highlights include ten categories of staterooms, the MSC Yacht Club (premium ‘ship within a ship’ area), Galleria Meraviglia promenade, 20 bars and 12 restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools/hot tubs, a water park at sea, the MSC Aurea Spa, a 6,000 square-foot gym, the MSC Formula Racer, full-sized bowling alley, an interactive XD cinema, flight simulator, Sportsplex (facilities for basketball, tennis, squash, volleyball, pickle ball, mini golf, and soccer), and the MSC Kids’ Club.

Additionally, MSC Meraviglia is fitted with technology solutions to minimize its environmental footprint. This includes an exhaust gas cleaning system for cleaner emissions, advanced wastewater treatment systems, smart heating/AC systems, LED lighting, and smart devices to significantly save energy.

Bookings are now open for sailings on MSC Meraviglia through summer 2024.
