Holland America Line kicked off the start of its 2023 Alaska cruise season yesterday with a special event at the Port of Seattle.

The cruise line marked the day with a welcome celebration as Eurodam arrived at Pier 91. The occasion included a special visit from Miss Washington, Regan Gallo, and Miss Alaska, Jessica Reisinger. To honor its 150th Anniversary year, Holland America Line presented a commemorative plaque to the Port of Seattle, as well as a special donation to Seattle-based organization The Pastry Project.

"As the pioneer and leader in Alaska cruising, Holland America Line is excited to start the season today celebrating our 150th Anniversary in our hometown," said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line's chief commercial officer. "Not only is Holland America Line headquartered in Seattle, but it's a key homeport for our brand. With two ships based here and four more in Vancouver through September, we're ready for a robust Alaska season of cruising and cruisetours including land trips to Denali and Yukon."

Holland America Line will offer 2023 Alaska cruises from Seattle and Vancouver. Every Alaska cruise from Holland America includes a visit to one or more iconic glacier destinations such as Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, or the Twin Sawyer Glaciers of Tracy Arm.

The cruise line will homeport two ships (Eurodam and Westerdam) from Seattle this year, with 48 departures throughout the season. The seven-day ‘Alaskan Explorer’ cruise will sail from Seattle and includes calls to Victoria (evening stay), Ketchikan, Juneau, and Sitka.

This season Holland America Line will operate a full season out of Vancouver on four ships (Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, and Volendam) with 75 total departures. Holland America Line currently offers more cruises to Alaska from Canada than any other cruise line. The seven-day ‘Alaska Inside Passage’ cruises sail roundtrip from Vancouver with port visits to Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. Seven-day ‘Glacier Discovery Northbound’ and ‘Glacier Discovery Southbound’ itineraries cruise between Whittier and Vancouver with visits to Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. The 14-day ‘Great Alaska Explorer’ itinerary roundtrip from Vancouver calls at Kodiak, Anchorage, Valdez, Sitka, Skagway, and Ketchikan, with visits to Glacier Bay.
