Haunted Mansion Themed Bar Coming to New Disney Cruise Line Ship
Disney Cruise Line has announced that a Haunted Mansion-themed bar will be on upcoming new ship, Disney Treasure. The venue, named the ‘Haunted Mansion Parlor’, has been inspired by the famous Disney Parks attraction. Guests will be able to experience this spooktacular new space when Disney Treasure makes its debut in late 2024.
According to Disney, the Haunted Mansion Parlor will be a one-of-a-kind experience that tells a new chapter of The Haunted Mansion. Its theme centers around the story of a “jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé.”
The bar will feature a number of legendary characters found at Haunted Mansion attractions at Disney Parks around the world, as well as a host of new seafaring characters. The story follows the nostalgic art style of the original 1969 Disney Parks Haunted Mansion, blending humor with Disney’s distinct brand of spooky storytelling. Walt Disney Imagineering and composer Shruti Kumar have created a special new musical arrangement for the Haunted Mansion Parlor inspired by the original score.
The design of the new venue will be reminiscent of a first-class drawing room from a classic cruise liner, offering the story of The Haunted Mansion to take a nautical twist. Guests will find tributes to the Disney Parks attractions, such as purple wallpaper framed by wooden finishes, a mantel clock atop the fireplace, and a distinctive purple armchair tucked in the corner. They will also encounter a few new faces in the portrait gallery depicting the ship’s own ghostly residents.
Haunted Mansion Parlor will serve a number of new themed cocktails, all which capture the spirit of The Haunted Mansion. Featured drinks will include Sympathetic Libations (a blood orange and sour cherry flavored beverage served in a specialty mug), the Ghoulish Delight (an ube-flavored beverage for all, that incorporates ube fudge, oat milk and tapioca pearls garnished with a gummy eyeball and ube glitter), and a spooky take on the Classic Margarita served amidst a swirl of flavored smoke complete with a secret message that can only be seen under black light.
Haunted Mansion Parlor will also offer exclusive new merchandise, only available on Disney Treasure. Housewares and souvenirs will include The Haunted Mansion Parlor Music Box, a Haunted Parlor Mantle Clock, Haunted Mansion Parlor Sculpted Mug (which features the image of the octopus design at the bar’s entrance), and the Haunted Mansion Parlor Mirror.
Disney Treasure is slated to make its debut in December 2024. The sixth ship of the Disney Cruise Line fleet is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. Disney Treasure will spend its inaugural season homeporting from Port Canaveral sailing 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
