Four Seasons Yachts Celebrates Keel Laying for Four Seasons I
New luxury cruise operator Four Seasons Yachts and joint operator Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd hosted a keel laying ceremony for the brand’s first ship, Four Seasons I. The yacht is currently under construction at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Italy and will make its debut in January 2026.
The keel laying celebration honored the maritime tradition of recognizing the formal start of Four Seasons I’s construction. As a part of this, the ceremony included the welding of specially chosen coins to the bottom of the ship as a symbol of good luck and to bless the vessel.
“The Keel Laying ceremony marks a key milestone in the construction of our inaugural yacht and for the Four Seasons brand as we bring our renowned luxury service and hospitality experiences to the seas,” says Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO, Four Seasons. “We are proud to celebrate this occasion with our partners at Marc-Henry and Fincantieri, building excitement for 2026 and beyond aboard Four Seasons Yachts.”
The three coins selected for the keel laying ceremony of Four Seasons I included:
- A 1984 500 Italian Lire to commemorate the year Fincantieri became an operating company.
- A 1961 Canadian Silver Dollar, marking the year Four Seasons was founded.
- A 2024 American Silver Dollar, to symbolize the base of operations for Four Seasons Yachts and the start of construction for Four Season I.
“We are thrilled to commemorate the official start of the shipbuilding process for the first vessel in the Four Seasons Yachts fleet, Four Seasons I,” says Nadim Ashi, Owner and Executive Chair, Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD, Joint Owner/Operator, Four Seasons Yachts; Founder and CEO of Fort Partners. “This monumental occasion is a celebration of innovation, excellence, and our strategic vision to redefine luxury at sea. Today’s momentum and excitement will undoubtedly continue through the remainder of the construction process, and we pay homage to all of the artisans creating this magnificent Four Seasons Yacht.”
The ceremony brought together representatives from luxury yachting company Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd., Four Seasons Yachts, and venerated Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.
Four Seasons I will set a new standard for luxury at sea, with an all-suite, residential style product. Included among the Yacht’s exceptional features are the 9,975 square feet Funnel Suite floor-to-ceiling wraparound curved glass window modules (made up of the largest contiguous piece of glass at sea), and a bespoke onboard transverse marina allowing for expansive openings across the vessel from port to starboard.
For its debut season in 2026, the yacht will sail winter and spring itineraries in the Caribbean, followed by Mediterranean destinations in the summer.
