Carnival Cruise Line offered a first look at some of the spaces and activities of its newest ship, Carnival Celebration. The vessel is the sister ship to the wildly popular Mardi Gras which began cruising last year. Carnival Celebration will make its official debut this November sailing from PortMiami.

In honor of Carnival Cruise Line’s 50th birthday kick-off, the line revealed details about four of the six onboard ship zones. Carnival Celebration will feature a number of new specialty venues, as well as a number of elements incorporating the history of the Carnival brand.

“From a design perspective, we are incorporating elements from our former ships, paying homage to the history of Carnival, and also showcasing Carnival Celebration as a modern, innovative and forward-looking vessel,” said Ben Clement, Carnival Cruise Line senior vice president of new builds, refurbishment and product innovation. “While similar to Mardi Gras with a plethora of options for dining, entertainment and relaxation, Celebration will have her own personality, one that celebrates all things Carnival, intertwining where we have been with where we are going.”

These are the four newly announced zones of Carnival Celebration

Celebration Central

Spanning decks six through eight, Celebration Central is the grand atrium of Carnival Celebration. This unique party-themed space will welcome guests as they step onboard. The ceiling has been designed to be reminiscent of a confetti cannon, made with 1,400 color-changing lighting fixtures which will transform from day to night. The space will include 3,000-square-foot floor-to-ceiling windows which will change into 16 individually controlled, six- by 14-foot LED screens that will pair with the entertainment.

The space will include a number of elements that play homage to Carnival Cruise Line’s history. The Aquaria Bar will feature ocean-themed glass murals from Carnival Victory by Italian artist Luciano Vistosi. The Tropicale Bar is named after Carnival’s first ship to sport the line’s iconic funnel.

Summer Landing

The Summer Landing area will include a number of outdoor venues. Here guests will find Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, a number of pools and whirlpools, The Watering Hole poolside bar, and the new Heroes Tribute Lounge designed to honor military personnel.
