Disney Cruise Line to Celebrate 25th Anniversary in 2023

Disney Cruise Line is turning 25 next year! To mark the milestone anniversary, the cruise line will roll out a range of special programming in 2023. 

The family-friendly cruise line launched back in July 1998. For the past 25 years, Disney Cruise Line has introduced five cruise ships to its fleet and sailed to a number of destinations all around the world. 

“For two-and-a-half decades, Disney Cruise Line has built an incredible legacy of creating unforgettable vacation memories for families around the world,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line. “Of course, at the heart of this anniversary celebration are our dedicated cast and crew members who continuously deliver legendary service and create magic at sea for our guests every day. Whether returning as a member of our Castaway Club or sailing with us for the first time, we are thrilled to invite guests of all ages to be a part of our very special anniversary festivities next summer.”

To mark 25 years, Disney Cruise Line has named 2023 its ‘Silver Anniversary at Sea’. To celebrate it will offer special entertainment, merchandise and celebratory experiences on all five of its ships on select sailings from May through September. 

Here are some of the highlights that guests can experience during Disney’s ‘Silver Anniversary at Sea’: 

• New ensembles for Captain Minnie Mouse and Captain Mickey Mouse. These coordinated looks will feature shimmering, multi-toned fabric and swirling designs reminiscent of ocean waves. 
• A new signature song to serve as the soundtrack of the celebration. According to Disney it will “tunefully thread nostalgic memories of vacations past with the of anticipation of new family adventures to come.” 
• New family onboard entertainment/activities, including evening experiences, which will be created exclusively for the anniversary celebration sailings.
• Themed culinary creations, such as desserts and inspired craft cocktails. 
• A special new line of dedicated merchandise called the ‘Shimmering Seas Collection’. This line will include an assortment of apparel, accessories, drinkware, keepsakes and more, themed to the anniversary. 

Cruises featuring ‘Silver Anniversary at Sea’ celebrations will sail to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Europe, and Alaska during summer 2023.

In conjunction with the 25th Anniversary, Disney will debut a brand-new membership tier for the Castaway Club, Disney Cruise Line’s rewards and perks program. To celebrate 25 years, members will now earn the distinction of Pearl status after 25 Disney Cruise Line vacations. 

More details about the ‘Silver Anniversary at Sea’ program will be announced by Disney Cruise Line at a later date.
