Cunard Shares Special Image of New Ship Queen Anne to Mark 183rd Birthday
Happy 183rd birthday to luxury cruise line Cunard! To celebrate the occasion, Cunard unveiled a special new cutaway image of its upcoming ship Queen Anne.
The striking image pays homage to the cruise line’s rich heritage and was designed in the style of Cunard’s advertising posters from the 1920s. The scenes depicted show a fun look at the ship's interiors and a number of various stories related to the cruise line. A number of limited-edition posters of the cutaway will be released ahead of Queen Anne’s maiden voyage in May 2024.

The image was designed by Artist Dominik Bulka. To create the work, Bulka hand-sketched each element of the design and then electronically stitched the scenes into the completed single digital image.
Viewers will see several Cunard signature ship venues and new spaces coming to Queen Anne. Highlights include Cunard’s signature iconic Grand Lobby and Golden Lion pub, as well as the new show bar coming to Queen Anne, inspired by the Bright Lights Society.
The image also contains multiple scenes depicting Cunard’s rich brand history. On deck one, you'll find two bellhops feeding a hippo in a swimming pool - a reference to a 1960s transatlantic crossing. Following is Cunard’s description of this unique story.
“In 1963, onboard Pavia, there was a very special guest that required a cold shower every hour during the day. Three-year-old Jimmy was a hippopotamus making his way from Naples to Chester Zoo; in fact, he traveled on deck with an awning over his cage to protect him from the sun.”
If you look closely, you can also see the famous faces of past Cunard guests like David Bowie, Nelson Mandela, and the cruise line’s founder, Sir Samuel Cunard.
"We are incredibly excited about the launch of Queen Anne and this magnificent cutaway image brilliantly encapsulates the essence of playful luxury that guests will experience onboard our newest ship," said Matt Gleaves, VP, Commercial, Cunard North America. "Cunard guests receive an exclusive experience sailing aboard our fantastic fleet of Queens and we are always keen to showcase the unique touches that make our voyages one-of-a-kind. Whether it be posting your mail in the middle of the Atlantic or marvelling at art etched by royalty, you are sure to create unforgettable moments with Cunard."

"The striking image", nah - I don't think it's 'striking'. But the ship is going to look nice! But, I'm basing that on my previous experience aboard Qn. Elizabeth.
