Carnival Announces Price Increases for WiFi and Gratuities
Carnival Cruise Line will raise the pricing for onboard WiFi access as well as gratuity guidelines. The announcement was made in a note sent out to booked guests.
These changes will impact cruises from the United States and Europe. In the note, Carnival shared the following in response to the pricing changes, “Our shipboard team members work hard to provide exceptional and friendly service, so we hope you will agree that this slight increase is well deserved.”
Following are the newly announced pricing structures from Carnival.
Internet Pricing - Effective for embarkations January 16, 2023, and beyond
- Social: $12.75 per day
- Value: $17 per day
- Premium: $18.70 per day
Gratuity Guidelines - Effective for embarkations April 1, 2023, and beyond
- Standard Staterooms: $16 per guest, per day
- Suites: $18 per guest, per day
For already booked guests, Carnival will honor its existing pricing structure for pre-paid internet access and gratuities. Guests can still save now by pre-paying internet or gratuities by the following dates at these rates:
Internet Prices – Must be pre-purchased before January 16, 2023
- Social: $10.20 per day
- Value: $14.45 per day
- Premium: $17 per day
Gratuity Guidelines – Must be pre-purchased before April 1, 2023
- Standard Staterooms: $14.50 per guest, per day
- Suites: $16.50 per guest, per day
Carnival also specified the following for gratuity guidelines, “As a reminder, unless they are pre-paid, recommended gratuities are automatically added to your onboard Sail & Sign account as a convenience. However, while on board, you are free to adjust gratuities at your discretion. No adjustments will be made after the cruise.”
