When is Rotterdam slated to make its North American Debut?
Holland America Line’s newest ship Rotterdam will officially make its debut on November 5, 2021, from Port Everglades. Through the end of 2021, Rotterdam will sail a variety of 5-, 10-, and 11- night itineraries all around the Bahamas and the Southern Caribbean.
Holland America Line requires all guests to have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the beginning of the cruise and be able to present proof of vaccination at boarding. All passengers must also submit an electronic health questionnaire. In addition, Holland America requires each guest to present proof of a negative, medically observed, viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within two days of embarkation.

About the Ship: Rotterdam is certain to make waves as it makes its official debut this fall. True to all Holland America ships, Rotterdam features spectacular dining options, entertainment, staterooms, and high-caliber service. The theme of ‘Music’ is a featured part of Rotterdam, with a number of activities and amenities focusing around this. This is the seventh Holland America ship to be named Rotterdam, and the third in the Pinnacle class of ships.
At full capacity (excluding current COVID restrictions), Rotterdam can carry up to 2,668 total passengers. There are 1,340 total cabins onboard, ranging in 39 different types of categories.
Activities + Entertainment: Guests traveling on Rotterdam are in for a treat with the variety of exciting activities and entertainment options available. Highlights include the Rolling Stone Rock Room live music venue, Lincoln Center Stage hosting contemporary and classical music performances, B.B. King’s Blues Club, BBC Earth in Concert, Billboard Onboard piano shows, Greenhouse Salon and Spa, a casino, Club HAL kids and teen centers, and Explorations Central destination-focused programming.
Dining: Rotterdam’s nine dining venues are certain to please the palettes of all travelers. The flagship dining room offers the perfect venue for an exquisite breakfast and a superb multi-course dinner. Other dining options onboard include Rudi's Sel De Mer, Pinnacle Grill, Canaletto, Tamarind, Dive-In, New York Pizza, and Nami Sushi.

What to Expect at Embarkation & Onboard Protocols
Before embarkation, all guests sailing on Rotterdam must present the following: proof of COVID-19 vaccination (with the full dose administered 14 days before sailing), a negative COVID test (PCR or antigen) result which was taken within two days before sailing, and a completed health questionnaire. Guests will be assigned a boarding time to embark.
Holland America strongly encourages guests to wear face masks indoors when in public spaces. All guests will be required to wear a mask in elevators, designated indoor entertainment areas, retail shops, and in the casino, except when eating or drinking. Guests will also be required to wear face masks prior to being seated in our main dining rooms, in the buffet area, and occasionally in other designated areas where a large number of guests may congregate.
