Beautiful ship, poorly designed spaces

Overall cruising on the carnival celebration for 7 days was a fun trip. There were small frustrations as stated in my review but nothing that could cause me to not enjoy being on vacation and being on a cruise. I I blame some of my frustrations on myself for having larger expectations of such a large ship.

Second time was it improved experience

Overall enjoy this trip. This is my second time on the liberty and it did not disappoint. My first trip on the liberty was spoiled by an item being stolen out of my stateroom. And too many drunk travelers on the ship. This experience was much better. Though I am a Royal Caribbean type of cruiser I definitely feel this ship is a good value.

Independence of the Seas

December 2018 - 5 Night Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Independence of the Seas

This ship is my favorite so far. Cruised before the refurb and then after. I love all the upgrades. The sports bar was a great addition for people who wanted to keep up on the football season. Kids loved the water slides and skypad. The only thing that upset me was that we traveled in a group of 33, 8 of us wanted to do the escape room together but could not because every time slot had 2-3 people booked already. I would they would have combined small groups to allow for a full group but I guess that's also my fault for not beating the 2-3 people to the reservation. Crew was amazing as always and any time there was a problem in out group they did everything to resolve it (ie people moving rooms, credits missing, or kids wanting something outside of the norm.) Bartenders we're great (ask for a Love Connection, it's my favorite drink) wait staff was AMAZING, with a large group they helped make the group dinning experience fun and even gave us free wine to toast our trip together.

Carnival Liberty

April 2017 - 3 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Liberty

This was my fourth Cruise but my first with Carnival Cruise Line. I have to first start off saying that the ship, while one of the smaller ones I've sailed on, was not at all lacking in entertainment or quality of service. The staff for the most part we're great. The food ranged from good to great depending on where and what you chose to eat. Our kids used all levels of the kids clubs and really enjoyed them. Because this was the shortest Cruise I've ever done, we realized it at 3 day cruise is not long enough because you're just getting into the swing of things by the third day, so definitely wish it was longer which is a good sign. I only have 3 negatives experiences to share and one of them I can't fault Carnival for . 1st I've never sailed with such rude and inconsiderate shipmates as on this cruies. some of the guest on board were disrespectful to the staff, inconsiderate the other guests around them and just downright rude. parents not watching their kids. adults fighting with each other on the decks around kids using profanity, and so much more. but I do realize that that's not a fault of Carnival but more fault of the type of people that this particular price point attracted. My second issue was how rude the photo sales staff were. did not want to answer questions and seem to have an attitude whenever you discussed photos pricing or options. my last and biggest issue was that I mistakenly left a $150 bottle of perfume in my cabinet next to the safe of my stateroom and when I remembered and ask for to be retrieved I was told that it was not left in the stateroom despite the fact that I knew it was because I moved removed it from the safe and send it down so that I could pack it and just forgot to grab so it makes me question whether it was stolen by someone cleaning the room after I checked out or the person retrieve it really didn't go actually check The stateroom. that was disappointing because this was a gift. because of this issue alone will probably never sale with Carnival again. but overall the ship and its crew are worthy of four stars. make sure you do 80 's music night it's really fun.

Cruise tips

Miami, Florida

Construction seems to constantly be an issue at port of Miami, leave early to give yourself time to deal with backed up traffic getting to the port.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Amber cove was a bit of a disappointment to me, I read many people say they tend to stay on the ship and having finally visited I understand why. The area set up like a private cruise port with none of the benefits like free food or beach area.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Enjoyed this little island, did a tour that cost about $25 per person for 6 hours around both the French and Dutch side. Learn so much history and saw some beautiful sights.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

San Juan was amazing, I wish I had more time to explore. This is not the type of port to bring your bathing suit to but you can absolutely enjoy yourself bringing your walking shoes and appetite. The old San Juan history, sites, and food are worth five stars

Carnival Liberty

Carnival Liberty

Make sure to get to the comedy show early, seating is very limited. Make sure you visit the Alchemy Bar. Great drinks. Smaller ship so won't take long to find your way around.

Nassau, Bahamas

I have always enjoyed Nassau. Get a cab and explore. It's a great and friendly Island.

Falmouth, Jamaica

This is a 2 part review. I loved Falmouth 4 stars for the port and the people there. This was our second time here and the first time was a 5 star experience but the second part of this review is for Blue water beach Club. This place SUCKED. First of all We were “tricked”into going there by the cab driver who got a kick back from the resort for brining us (I saw them pay her for bringing us). I asked To go to a beach that we visited the first time in 2013. She says “no that beach is way to busy. I got a great beach for you. Not busy at all” So I say okay let’s go. First thing was the cost to get into the beach.( I was traveling with 11 people) the beach I asked to go to was free. The driver never told me this one had a fee. Cost Me over $200 for the cab ride and beach fee for 11 people. But we’re are there may as well enjoy it. I couldn’t. The free beach I had been to a few years ago was beautiful. Clean sand, clear water, great music playing, but this place... The sand was dirty and hadn’t been raked in forever. the water was over run by sea weed. Beach was crowded and they were doing construction on a new hut so none stop banging and sawing. And the music. They played US top 20 music. We are in Jamaica and we’re listening to Chainsmokers and flo rid a. Where’s the Reggae? I am not a vacation snob. I loved every port in all of my 6 cruises and enjoy different experiences but this one was BAD. Note: I went in November but just now leaving this review because I forgot the name of this horrible place until I saw it on another person post and it refreshed my memory. Again to review Falmouth 4 🌟s Blue Water Beach Club 0 ⭐️s AVOID 🚫 Cab driver 0 ⭐️s ask questions before you agree to go.
