Carnival Paradise

Nice, inexpensive getaway

This is our second time on a cruise but the first time for our daughters (9 &11). This trip was really more for them and they had a blast. The ship is older with fewer amenities but you can't beat the price for a 4 night cruise (around $220 per person). The rain dampened the experience a bit but that's mother nature's fault. Can't wait to go on another cruise but will upgrade to a different ship/cruise line.

Catalina Island, California

It was sprinkling and we really didn't feel like shopping or doing outdoor activities. However, renting a golf cart to see parts of Avalon was fun! Cash only (didn't expect that) for golf carts ($40 per hour and $40 deposit).

Ensenada, Mexico

Went on an excursion to La Bufadora and shops nearby. Excursions are cheaper (1/2 price) from local agencies. Also visited Corona warehouse ($1 beer bottles). The Bufadora was interesting (for a few minutes) but the bus ride gave us the opportunity to see parts of Ensenada. $15 per person for this 3-4 hour excursion.
