4 Night Baja Mexico (Los Angeles Roundtrip)
Sail Date: October 03, 2011
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Family (young children)

This is our second time on a cruise but the first time for our daughters (9 &11). This trip was really more for them and they had a blast. The ship is older with fewer amenities but you can't beat the price for a 4 night cruise (around $220 per person). The rain dampened the experience a bit but that's mother nature's fault. Can't wait to go on another cruise but will upgrade to a different ship/cruise line.

Food and Dining

Basically a 24 hour Hometown Buffet. The dining room food was a little better.

Staff is hardworking!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Older ship with outdated decor but staff did a great job maintaining the areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

Pink decor (not my style) but room is functional. TVs are crt so don't expect HD.

Went on an excursion to La Bufadora and shops nearby. Excursions are cheaper (1/2 price) from local agencies. Also visited Corona warehouse ($1 beer bottles). The Bufadora was interesting (for a few minutes) but the bus ride gave us the opportunity to see parts of Ensenada. $15 per person for this 3-4 hour excursion.

It was sprinkling and we really didn't feel like shopping or doing outdoor activities. However, renting a golf cart to see parts of Avalon was fun! Cash only (didn't expect that) for golf carts ($40 per hour and $40 deposit).

Pros: great for first time cruisers

Cons: tight casino
