Allure of the Seas

Allure of the Seas

Sail date: March 20, 2011

Awesome Ship!!!

The Allure of the Seas is an amazing ship. There are tons of restausants and bars to choose from and various things for adults including the casino, nightclubs, comedy shows etc. My family and I have been on several cruises (Disney mostly) and usually compare the service to Disney as they still have the best customer service. Royal Carribean has a wonderful staff of nice people who are there to help. One negative is our lead waiter wasn't as personable as other servers we have had in the past. I like when by the end of the week you know each other and their story and having that personal relationship. Believe me though this did not ruin the trip in anyway. The Solarium is amazing and apparently "people need to be quiet" unless it is packed with people. The Elevator situation gets tedious. You spend a lot of time waiting for an elevator. Of course there is nothing that can be done about this now as it is built. The Debarkation process is atrocious! Disney has this down to a science that all cruise lines should follow, Royal Carribean, not so much. My advice get the earliest possible debarkation number as it gets backed up and you will be waiting longer then anticipated. Overall it is a fantastic ship and the group we had made everything even more fun and amazing. If you have a chance to go, do it.

Cruise tips

Nassau, Bahamas

Been here several times. One huge negative was a very short time in port (had to be back on boat by 12:30 pm.) They really need to not go to Nassau and choose a different Island or stay there longer. It really is a waste of a day so they should leave this island to the 3 and 4 day cruises.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Magen's Bay is the nicest beach. Shops are just like Nassau and any other island. Skip those and go to the beach especially if this is not your first cruise. Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook has Amazing food, Various Rum Concoctions, and an awesome staff.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Orient Beach is the nicest beach with some pretty good deals. $5-10 gets you a lawn chair and a bathroom to use plus drink specials and food from that partiuclar bar. Just beware, clothing is optional and the farther you head down the beach, the less clothing is used and they are not models.
