Review summary

This was our 1st and certainly not our last cruise.  Everything from the planning to the end of the trip and everything in between was incredible.  We loved our balcony stateroom on the Lido deck.  It was very comfortable and well maintained by our room steward. and it was close to the central swimming pool and hot tubs.  It was also close to the buffet where we had breakfast every day.  The food was plentiful and delicious and we especially enjoyed our table in the main dinning room.  We tried several new and interesting entree's and laughed at the "Baked Alaska" parade the staff did in the dining room.  We had a great time on the Princess Cays island lounging on the beach and splashing in the surf.  We went on an under water scooter tour on St. Thomas and will never forget the beauty and thrill of seeing all the sea life and coral.  The crew on the small boat we used to get to the dive area was great and paid special attention to one person in our party who was a non-swimmer and needed extra help getting on to his underwater scooter.  We did a bus tour of the island of St. Marten stopping in a shopping area and having lunch on the beach on the French side of the island.  The tour took us to both the Dutch and the French sides and the tour guide filled us in on the history of the island which is also kinown as the "Friendly Island."  On the Regal Princess, there was a lot of really good entertainment.  The Regal Princess singers and dancers did a variety of shows including our favorite one featuring show tunes and light opera.  We also enjoyed listening to Trevor Cole who played the steel drums.  We saw 3 of his offerings in various lounges around the ship.  Near the end of our trip we filled out the paperwork for the ship to request our boarding passes for the airline flight back home and were able to pack our bags the night before we disembarked, leave them outside our stateroom and not have to touch them again until we arrived back in Denver.  The whole process was seamless.  The entire crew was helpful and friendly.  They really cared about how we were taken care of for the entire adventure.  As I said in the title of the review -- everything was better than we ever imagined it could be.

Cabin / Stateroom

The balcony was a real blessing and we even saw some whales and flying fish. Our room steward, Jose, did a great job of keeping our room clean without interfering with our privacy. There were lots of hangers for all of our clothes.
