Review summary

Traveling in Queen's Grill was the best cruising experience ever, even though we had the lowest category Q6.  From the check-in we simply walked aboard.  The suite was huge and we enjoyed the included bar set-up with wine and a bottle of Bailey's.   When the wine was gone, they brought a new bottle.  The soft drink supply in our room "mini-bar" was re-stocked every morning.  Our butler brought canapés each evening and tea time was perfect.  We only did the tea time once because we ate too much!  The staff aboard was friendly and very professional at every turn.  The only negative was an error on our bill the last evening.

We shall return to Cunard in the not-to-distant future.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Queen's Grill is so far above anything we've experienced before on a cruise. During our cruise, we had Chateaubriand, Beef Wellington, Duck a' l'orange, and Rack of Lamb ... all prepared at table side. The last night we had flaming Crepe Suzette for dessert. The only time (after an excursion) we ate in the buffet, we experienced the "always available" pizza. As the time had passed for there to be any on the buffet, one was made-to-order for me in just 8 minutes. This has nothing to do with Queen's Grill. Others behind me watched my pizza being made and ordered their own.

On a scale of 1-10 it was a 15! We love the aft (wake) view and we had it. The room was huge. The only negative was that the huge jetted tub had no shower. The separate shower was what we used and it was just fine but the tub was never used and the clothesline was in the shower rather than over the tub. That would have been a better place for it.

Ship tip

Make sure to have the fish-and-chips in the Golden Lion Pub. This is an "included" venue and is like a London Pub.

The Cunard excursion that includes Albufera Lake is well worth the money. The included "meal" turned out to be 7 courses ranging from tapas to paiaya and dessert with expresso. From the city sightseeing to the boat ride around the lake, it was all fabulous.
