Review summary

Not sure if all MSC cruises are this poor. We will go back to cruising with Celebrity. Staying on 14 was a nightmare -- noise from above all night long, sounded like moving carts and furniture 24/7.

Embarkation

Very easy, no queuing required; however, the greeters and check-in employees were absolutely disinterested in the boarding guests and were more interested in talking amongst themselves.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food is awful. The acoustics in the Colorado River restaurant is terrible -- it is very loud. And, the table are jam packed in there. You are sitting on top of the people at the next table. Breakfast is even worse -- its like a cattle call -- cramming people in to tables and slinging food at you to get you out. And, the food isn't good. Market Buffet is even worse.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The design of the ship with the promenade and the amount of "activities" that take place in the promenade create huge traffic jams of people. The staircases are constantly blocked off for photos -- and, there are photo stations everywhere. Activities lack creativity.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Big Band is amazing, but their venue is small. Good luck getting a seat. Shows in the theater are dreadful.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Our cabin attendant, Oliver, was lovely and helpful. A few members of the spa crew were nice, but the remaining employees were disengaged in providing any sort of meaningful or pleasant experience for guests.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Promenade looks good, but is a waste of space. Ship is new and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Size was lovely for an interior -- we were pleasantly surprised. Oliver was great and ensured our room was made up twice a day and very clean.

Ship tip

Do not book this cruise - guests are constantly embarking and disembarking so there are drills for new joiners almost daily.

Rotterdam, Netherlands

Again, great shuttle service -- must visit the Keukenhof!

Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium

Awesome port -- shuttle service provided is great.

Disembarkation

Quick, easy, no one bothered to care that we were disembarking.
