Review summary

We’re NCLH Shareholders and we were expecting service and cuisine to a higher standard than we receive with NCL. We had just come off of a 21 day NCL cruise in November 2022 and it was far superior to our 1st experience with Oceania. We spoke with passengers who had made multiple Oceania cruises and they too were disappointed in the service, excursions and cuisine on this 21 day Holiday Cruise. After completing a review on the 3rd day of the cruise and going to the Reception desk regarding why our Anniversary was ignored, we anticipated a response to our concerns. During the 21 day cruise we never heard from anyone. Shame on Oceania on the way they treat customers.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Lines not to long and Miami staff seemed well trained and organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
With Oceania advertising its culinary expertise we expected exceptional service and cuisine especially on a Holiday cruise. The Marina didn’t deliver on either. Waited in line for 45 minutes to get into main dining room on 2nd night. Failed to acknowledge our wedding anniversary on Dec 24 even though Reception had asked where and when we would be dining. Waiters either couldn’t remember who order what or missed items ordered due to lack of training.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Usual trivia and attempted friendly competition with ping pong, putt golf etc. Men’s spa poorly planned with steam room (not working) and sauna in one section but having to cross hallway to get to toilet and sinks to shave.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Best was a pianist and violinist but poor stage shows, tired comedic and movies.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
As shared above, waiters and ship staff, with exception of Excursion Desk personnel, were untrained. Most positive was our ship steward, Fredi Vunus, who was exceptional. Best we’ve ever had on any cruise.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Having on 2 lifts leading to restaurants and 4 lifts at front of ship made long lines during meal service times.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Old decor showing a lot of wear. Whole ship really dated in appearance. Sad.

Ship tip

Don’t sail on the Marina and possibly any Oceania ship. They appear to be expanding more quickly without training their personnel to provide service and culinary experience they advertise.
