Review summary

Overall, the cruise was fine. Was disappointed that the evening shows were held at 9:30 pm. After a long day in port, we were usually too tired to make the shows. In fact, we saw only one and it was a good one.

Embarkation

I did not care for the procedure of processing groups based on what their category was. We arrived early, but, because we had an inside cabin, had to wait until other categories were processed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was abundant and I understand why servers were required. However, there were lines at times and people jostling one another. Also, the cheeseburgers and hot dogs in The Grill during lunchtime were not done too well. Could have been because of how busy the place was. My cheeseburger cheese was not even melted and the hot dog was small and overcooked.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As always, the staff were excellent. Our room steward was excellent and very accommodating. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and always around to help. This ship has some of the best personnel I have had the pleasure of cruising with.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Most areas were in excellent shape. However, the restrooms could have been better maintained. I don't know how often ship personnel cleaned the men's rooms, but the spaces under the urinals were always soiled.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Room was smaller than what we had expected. Also, if we were heavier and bigger, we would not have been able to take showers because the stall was so small. It was difficult to shower anyway. Fortunately, the room was kept extremely clean by our excellent cabin steward.

Ship tip

Be sure to visit the Coffee Corner in the morning. The friendly staff there serve the best coffee and expresso.

Ports of call

Copenhagen, Denmark Did not visit port

We thought that, because our flights were arranged by Oceania, our transportation from the airport to the port was also included. Discovered that it was not. So, after wandering around the airport and gathering information, we were able to make our way to the port on our own. Unfortunately, it left us no time to vist the city.

Warnemunde (Berlin), Germany

The 3 hour bus trip to and from the city were made easier because of our guide who was very informative. He also provided a snack box and water on both trips. The time we spent in the city was sufficient and we were able to visit the places we always wanted to visit.

Tallinn, Estonia

This was another port we visited on our own time. The old town was within walking distance of the ship. We had a great time.

St. Petersburg, Russian Federation

We took 2 excursions, one on day 1 and one on day 2. Unfortunately, some of the places we visited on day 2 were the same ones we visited on day 1. Also, the excursion we took on day 2 included a lunch, which was terrible. The space was overcrowded, the food was awful, the service was bad (because of the number of people). For the money we paid on this excursion, I believe the cruiseline could have found a better place to eat.

Helsinki, Finland

This was one of the best ports. The marketplace was terrific. Our only regret is that we did not have enough time to take a boat excursion while there. But the food was fresh and delicious. The weather was great. This is a place that I would love to visit again.

Stockholm, Sweden Did not visit port

Tip for people departing from the port to the airport. Use Uber.
