Review summary

It was a lovely relaxed experience. I just wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather and watch the world go by fueled coffee, great food and wine, and an incredible caring crew. I woke one morning to a congratulatory note and my. 4 star Mariner pin. The cabin was snug for 3 seniors- my sister, me and our almost 92 yo father.

Embarkation

It moved along well. My father is in a wheelchair so that gives us an advantage in the line

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had paid for Club Orange because of the small private dining room. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and is just amazing. One of the staff remembered us from the Zandam 5 years ago. Pinnacle was nice and the food was good. The baked Alaska could serve at least 3 people. The Grand Dutch Cafe was great for a light breakfast or afternoon coffee Strangely, we had no reason to go to the Lido

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I spent most of my time on my veranda and did not use any amenities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Club Orange staff were wonderful. The Future Cruise Consultant was very helpful as was Guest Services. Our room steward was okay.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness and maintenance were exemplary. The cabin layout was backwards; when the sofa bed was open, you could barely get past it to access the bathroom. 3 senior adults in a cabin can mean several night time trips to the head and multiple sleep interruptions for the sofa bed occupant. I do not like the current trend of open shelving in the bathroom.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin is tight for 3 adults. Sofa bed blocks the route to the bathroom as well as desk access when open. Blackout curtains really work. Shower is roomy.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We visited Todos Santos which is about an hour north. Tour guide Rudy and driver Oscar were excellent. We had lunch at the Hotel California ( an old hotel from the 1920s). Saw whale spouts and splash returning to the ship. This port is tendered.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very organized and quick but no facial scanners.
