Review summary

We were told over and over how fortunate we were to have such great weather. We were guaranteed by the naturalist and captain odds of that happening again were not that great.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The Buenos Aires port was never constructed for cruise ships. A fairly long bus ride from where you unload your luggage until where you get on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food choices could have been better. Spent more evenings than usual in the Oceanview Cafe.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
3 naturalists covering Antarctica plus many matinee shows.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The other performers lacked variety. Almost all singers/piano players, not one comedian.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room was kept clean and we always enjoy the cabins on Celebrity ships.

Ship tip

There are always places to find peace and quiet if that is what you are looking for. We were concerned since we knew the swimming area would not get much use, but still found many areas to sit without being involved in an activity.

Ports of call

Buenos Aires, Argentina

4 out of 5
Spent two days there, people were very friendly. No English spoken by locals which was a good thing for us to try to work our way around the city.

Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

5 out of 5
Plenty of wildlife to be seen no matter which excursion you took.

Cruise Cape Horn

4 out of 5
Very cloudy, gray day, hard to see the Albatross Monument from our ship.

Cruise Schollart Channel, Antarctica

5 out of 5
Perfect weather, scenery in every direction.

Cruise Paradise Harbor, Antarctica

5 out of 5
Whales everywhere along with penguins

Cruise Gerlache Strait

5 out of 5
Again wildlife everywhere.

Cruise Elephant Island, Shetland Islands

3 out of 5
Very gray day, a few whales in the area.

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands

5 out of 5
Penguins on every excursion, locals were warm and welcoming.

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

5 out of 5
A World Heritage Site, a long and bumpy ride to see the seals, sea lions, penguins and more, but well worth it.

Montevideo, Uruguay

3 out of 5
Poor tour, not much to see of note (at least on our tour)

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Good, took a tour of cruise of the Tigre Delta, too many hours waiting at the airport
