Review summary

This itinerary is amazing, and this cruise was a replacement for an Israel & Egypt cruise that we had originally booked that was cancelled due to the war in Gaza. Needless-to-say this was a consolation prize cruise that we were not really psyched about but it more than made up for our disappointment in missing out on a real bucket list cruise. Definitely add this one to your list of must see desinations.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent, and the service was the best I've ever experienced on a cruise ship.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I enjoyed the Turkish Spa one sea day and for $40 I thought that was a good value. The solarium was very nice, though a bit small and the lounges we nice.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was outstanding as it always is on a Celebrity Cruise. The "Elyria" show was interesting...a bit too homoerotic for my taste but we were forewarned that it may make some feel uncomfortable. But content aside, the performances we stellar.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The most outstanding service that I've ever experienced on a cruise.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship had just been "refreshed" so the carpeting was new and some furniture was either new or reupholstered, so it was all quite nice. The design of the ship left a lot to be desired. It is difficult to navigate especially when trying to figure out how to get onto the outside decks and back into the interior of the ship. The Oceanview Cafe is very poorly designed and it has a skylight that makes the area around it uncomfortably warm. Food sitting out in a high temperature is not an ideal situation. The main dining room is lovely with a wall of glass at the back. However, in order to achieve the ambiance of the glass wall, the kitchen is at the front of the dining room which means that as one tries to leave the dining room one has to dodge serving carrying trays from the kitchen to the tables. It was like salmon swimming upstream, again, just a poor design. There was also no central hub on this ship. There is a beautiful, illuminated staircase that one would expect would lead to a centrum or a spectacular bar, but it leads to the Guest Services and Explorations area. I was all just every odd.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It small and dated but it was what we expected for a smaller, older ship.

Ship tip

If this is the first ship you're on, I think you'll enjoy it but if you have been on newer, larger ships, you will be disappointed.

Ports of call

Trieste, Italy

5 out of 5
I had never heard of Trieste, Italy but is absolutely beautiful. We went to Miramare Castle and that was lovely but the views from the castle property were breathtaking.

Zadar, Croatia

5 out of 5
Zadar is beautiful. We spent the day in Sibenik, which is about a 40 minute ride outside of Zadar and the vista were amazing. I cannot properly express how beautiful the Adriatic coast is.

Split, Croatia

4 out of 5
It may have been the tour that I was on, but Split was not a stand-out port on this itinerary that had nothing but stand-out ports. A friend that I made on the cruise loved Split, so we likely just chose a lack-luster tour.

Kotor, Montenegro

5 out of 5
Without a doubt the most beautiful port I've ever been too. We met a couple on the cruise who selected this itinerary just so they could go back to Kotor and I can now understand why. If Kotor, Montenegro is not on your bucket list, add it! You will not be disappointed.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
Old Town Debrovnik is beyond words.

Salerno (Naples), Italy

5 out of 5
We took a private tour of the coast and it was amazing.
