Review summary

We got to know the crew better. This sailing has several medical emergencies. It’s important to be understanding if your schedule is interrupted.

Embarkation

Second leg of our B2B, we didn’t even get off the ship. Customs came on board to check our passports.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had a new head waiter. Not as good as Phung but the team worked out okay. We tried a few different dishes and they were good. Be sure to check both stations in the buffet area. I like the deli. The last day was rainy and cold. They moved the barbecue to Ocean Plaza. Nice way to accommodate the passengers.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Played more trivia. The questions were not the same, but still managed to win a ship on a stick. More mini golf but didn’t get any better.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Kimbo was the host this week. There were different comedians this week from last week. Joe Marlotti fit our sense of humor more than any of the others. He never repeated a show. Still not a fan of the Liquid Lounge. Enjoyed the music in the atrium.

Ocean Plaza

5 out of 5

Our favorite spot to relax. Was too busy during lunch on the last day. But was happy the area was put to good use.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was the same and he kept all the towel animals from last week then added daily. The Fun Squad was more friendly (didn’t think it was possible) because they remembered us. Some new personnel at EFFY. It was strange having new crew and not getting off the ship. Several people left when we did. This is a normal time for crew change.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is in needs of some repair, but it is to be expected. Crew cleaning continuously. Elevators were frustrating, you need to hit each button (3 sets in a bank of 6 elevators) for every elevator to know to stop. We joked that they couldn’t really hold 18 people (forgotten the weight limit). We often ended up taking the stairs (slowly…bad knees).

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Stayed in the same cabin. A regular balcony between two suites without connecting doors. Great location and your room steward is more experienced as he’s the one for the suites,

Ship tip

When staying a second week, try to do a few new things.

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We enjoyed the shopping and walked to beach area. In the past we took lift to the beach. Both are easy and there are benches in the walk area, if you get tired.

Cozumel, Mexico

A favorite stop. We just walked the shops and enjoyed people watching. There are places to put your gum as you enter the port area, just seemed humorous to me.

Galveston, Texas

Appreciated the Galveston Limousine shared ride service. They were accommodating but put the scheduled passengers first, as it should be.

Disembarkation

We carried our luggage off. We were to meet at 8:00 in the Reflection dining room. We were a little bit late (5 minutes) and our group was already getting off. So we joined in. It was cold and raining (glad we had our Winter Colorado clothes) and didn’t know where to go for our shuttle service. Asked and we were directed to the right area. There we asked again (plus called the service) and kindly directed to a dry spot to wait. We were over an hour early, but there was room. We waited 20 minutes past scheduled pickup for others but they didn’t get off until we were on the road for 10 minutes.
