Review summary

We did the Monday to Friday cruise. April 3-7. We stayed in cabin 8233, they've been updated and everything looks new and clean. Pillows were soft like a feather pillow only maybe a cheaper knock off. I took my own just in case but never used it. The balcony had enough room for me to put my feet on the glass while sitting in the chair reading my kindle. I'm 5'3". We chose only evening room cleaning. It worked out well if we wanted to sleep in we were not disturbed and by evening we were always out when he came to tidy up. Our steward Erickson used our names each time he saw us in the hall and he'd ask if we "need anything?, are you sure?". The ship is an older ship, but for our first crews, it was perfect and priced right. If you're looking for a relaxing laid back party group, this is the ship for you. Formal and stuffy was not their M.O. Some did dress nicer on formal night, but if you didnt, you didnt feel out of place. We found the pool all the way to the back to still be fun but a little quieter. The music was lower and a little less hip hopish. As a 44 year old woman, i enjoyed it back there a bit more. But the middle pool on the lido deck 9 was where all the fun stuff happens! Ice sculpting, hairy chest contest, corn hole tourn. St. Jude dance a thon, to name a few. Movies were on each night on the big screen. Free popcorn and show them your sail & sign card to borrow a fleece blanket for the movie. They showed the basketball? game the first night. Then suicide squad tuesday night, magnificent 7 wednesday, and trolls followed by moana thursday night. It was fun, I recommend a blanket or hoodie it gets breezy on the decks at night. The speakers play out through the deck so you can hear it just fine. The food at dinner was good, try everything! Order more than one thing! They will bring you whatever you ask for! If you dont like it itder something else. When do you get to do that at home? Buffet lines were long at times but time it right and you get right through usually. Sandwich from the deli ham and cheese melts in your mouth. Pizza is thin but great for a quick snack 24 hrs. Explore. Your. Ship! As soon as you get on. Walk around! Find everything. Dont just assume the one line eveyone is in is the food line! Getting back on in key west took an hour and a half. Yes. 1 1/2. be prepared and dont be mad. Its all part of the process. Bring water. We just happened to have our umbrella. Im sure we looked odd. But we had shade!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dont go into it expecting alot of fancy stuff and you will be pleasantly suprised. Everything i tasted was great! Try the flatbread shrimp!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Sometimes you had to choose which thing you wanted to do more because it was at or overlapping the same time. Something for everyone

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Commedy club was good. I didnt do any other shows

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
17 and 13 yr old boys both made friends the first night and we barely saw them after that. The Circle C and Club O2 kept them busy with games dancing movies and scavenger hunts when they werent out exploring the ship in groups or hanging out in a quiet corner somewhere trying to be away from the adults

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
There were a few fluddy duddies of course. Theres always a few, but just ignore them and move on to the next one. Almost all of them smiled the entire cruise. Thats a big job in itself!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I was content. I had read reviews and knew it was older. It is what it is. It floats! And its fun! My husband did say he'd like to try a newer fancier ship next crews. But it was a great choice for our first cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was like new. It's newly renovated so everything was in great shape. Plenty of hangers. Storage was good, lots of drawers. Two closet/cupboards for suitcases. On one windy night the balcony doir dud whistle. My husband suggests bringing a roll of painters tape?

Ship tip

We were a few (8ish?)doors from the stairs. Go down one flight to deck 9 and walk through to the pool deck it was good exercise and a quick jaunt. Some say being in a cabin up front is more motion, but i have nothing to compair it to and found what little motion i felt soothing.

we sailed on the Victory last June. They were starting to redo the rooms our room was not updated but my sister in law's room was and looked nice. we thought the Victory was a pretty ship even though it is an older ship. Definitely will sail on it again.

We were on the same cruise...great review! We must have timed getting on in Key West differently because we didn't have a long wait?
