Review summary

This was a great cruise because of where it went to and the non-stop gorgeous scenery. There didn’t seem to be a lot to do during the day compared to other cruises I’ve been on but this could be because of the lack of staffing. The only time I saw a big difference in service was during dinner, we had to wait 20-30 min between courses sometimes. So unless it was something we really wanted from MDR, we went to Lido.

Embarkation

This was the fastest embarkation I’ve ever had! From getting to the pier to stepping foot on the ship was maybe 15 minutes and that includes getting a porter for our luggage and trekking in. It was a very smooth process, the only hold up was the people not prepared with either the app they needed or their paperwork.

Nouveau Steakhouse

The Steakhouse was good, we had a bad experience on another ship so gave it a second chance. I don’t know that it’s $43/ pp good but it was tasty. The ambience is not nearly as “steakhouse” as other ships though, it felt like an extension of Lido and not quite as luxurious.

This was an aft balcony cabin, we had some wonderful views but the room was warm almost the whole time. We brought a fan but it just circulated the warm air. We were able to prop the door open and get some cold air in but it wasn’t the same breeze as you’d get on a port or starboard balcony. Besides that, it was a great room, right below Serenity/ Lido so we could quickly get to food when we wanted. And the Spirit is a smaller ship so we could quickly walk to where we needed to go.

The tram ride takes you up 1600’ and there’s a nice hike you can take along with beautiful views. Other than that it’s shopping and food. We walked into the water to see if it was actually icy as the name implied. It is!!!!
