Review summary

This cruise was excellent! The panama canal transit was the highlight and we are all glad we were able to see it in our lifetime. The ship itself was the rockiest cruise we've ever been on, but it didn't slow us down. The staff, service, food, and entertainment were all outstanding. They did a great job!

RedFrog Pub

Great atmosphere, drinks were plentiful, games were fun.

Alchemy Bar

2 out of 5

Not as good as other Carnival alchemy bars. It was on a busy walkway, and only one menu for whole bar. (Had to share)

Bonsai Sushi

5 out of 5

Sushi rolls were outstanding, everything was fresh. Extra price is worth it. Could eat there all day!

Normandie Restaurant

Honestly they were way faster than I thought, we went a few times.

Entertainment

Taj Mahal Main Lounge

Its better than the main theaters on Carnival's big ships! Plenty of seating. Good shows, even on a bumpy night where there was no dancing due to bad weather, they had a "piano man" rock show that was nice. 80's night was awesome.

Carnival Seaside Theater

4 out of 5

They put the Lions v Bucs game on the big screen on lido, that was amazing! Otherwise, there was no room in pool or hot tub.

It was nice and spacious, fit 4 people just fine. Clean.

Ship tip

Older ship layout takes some getting used to. Bumpier ride but if you have your sea legs you will be fine.

Ports of call

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

The best part of the trip! Simply breath taking. Fun to watch how the canal elevators work. Also the ships passing with us through it, all got excited and had men dancing, even the cargo ships! Everyone had a great time that afternoon. Fun tip, check out the light pole on the canal dock above you before you go, its literally at eye level by the time you raise up 85 feet from sea level.

We had a good time - ate and drank and jumped in water. Not a fan of the stops where you have to take a shuttle to shore.
