Review summary

First time on the Pride. Ship’s layout was easy to navigate. I’ve been on one of her sister ships before. I really like that you could walk through the Casino and didn’t have to smell cigarettes. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I felt the food quality was lacking in the Buffet. The Pride needs to improve in that department. I enjoyed myself, but I probably won’t cruise on the Pride in the further.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Got to port at my embarkation time, which was 10:30. Had about a 30 minute wait. Suite guest was the first to board. I felt Carnival should be more loyal to their Diamond and Platinum cruisers. I’m not at that level yet.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I only at breakfast in the MDR. I’m not really a breakfast person. Food was okay. Service was great, very attentive. Had dinner in the buffet once. Food wasn’t very appealing. Not much flavor. Ate dinner mostly at the deli. Went to the Seafood Shack once. Dinner was okay. Ordered the fried Seafood Platter. They were out of Clam strips, and this was on the first night. Had the cheers package. I’m not a drinker. 2-3 drinks a day at most. The only issue I had was that Carnival ran out of the wine that I drink.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
They had many Trivia games, which I enjoy.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Went to only one stage show. The show was shut down early because of safety of the performers. Waters were choppy. Music was great, singers were okay. They had a total of 4 comedians. 2 different comedians each night. Let’s just say I’ve seen better. One comedian I didn’t care for all. Their material wasn’t funny.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was quick and attentive. The two times I ate in the MDR, food was delivered quicker than I expected. Other crew members were very friendly. Had to go to guest services for an issue I had. The first crew member wasn’t very helpful. Maybe she was new or maybe she just didn’t know. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. She gave me the phone to call a Carnival rep. I wasn’t about to be on hold for hours. The issue wasn’t that much of a big deal. Went back to guest services the next day. Saw a different member that time. She was able to help me out somewhat. I still have an issue. Maybe I’ll get it resolved on my next cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It’s an older ship , which I knew before I booked. The layout was easy to navigate. Glad that there was no smoking in the Casino.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great location 7th deck aft with extended Balcony. Easy to get to the lido buffet deck.

Ship tip

Understand it’s an older ship. May not have all the bell and whistles that the bigger ships have.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Probably the fastest I’ve ever disembarked. Was in no hurry, since my plane didn’t leave until the afternoon.
