The Bermuda cruise was relatively relaxing and a bit overpriced on the shore excursions

Review summary

Overpriced on a rusty and dated ship to a great Bermuda destination from my home area of Baltimore. I’ve done it four times and the ship has been going downhill since. If I go with another cruise lines out of Baltimore it will be primarily due to the mechanical condition of the Pride, rust, wear and tear.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
There was no counter area to set passport and ID out while juggling luggage and dealing with the line while entering the first port building from parking lot. Also there should be a prepay for parking or at least a warning for the cost when booking the cruise

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The level two table 142 restaurant was good and service was good. The burgers, fajitas, salad, condiments were good at Lido. There were several stressful times trying to obtain a lounge chair on Lido deck around pool due to people reserving chairs which causes tense moments

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We used the putt putt golf course, was nice

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We saw two shows and both were good but some of the content was slanted toward black perspective and jibing-attacked whites which is ok if the same jibing against blacks was accepted but it never is.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My daughter involved herself in age 12 circle C activities and enjoyed it which gave my wife and I time to ourselves

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wonderful, may God bless them all!! Thank you so much to the folks fixing the ship making her sail on time safely, room cleaning staff, restaurant and food bars chefs and deck/table cleaning staff and anyone I’ve not mentioned—-THANK YOU!!!!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Better than my last Pride cruise. There was chewing gum stuck inside the round roof of the round lounge chair on Serenity and the rules need to be monitored and enforced for No Smoking 24hrs a day where smoking is not allowed. Cigarette smoke smell lingers and migrated through out the ship deck and enclosed areas and is very offensive. I got into an intense verbal altercation with another person on Serenity because they were smoking and not responding to our initial notice they were not supposed to be there. They ignored me and my wife’s request so I made my wishes more clear and confrontational which was VERY stressful and caused commotion on serenity deck during sunrise on 6th day

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin had a sock from previous occupants under the bed and the bathroom towel rack and sink hardware was worn and dirty. There was a mish mash of hangers in the closets and the TV remote did not work. The AC did not get cold enough and the bed mattresses kept separating causing a gap in the middle.

Ship tip

It’s an older rusty ship with great crew that is conveniently ported in my home area of Baltimore which allows quick and stressfree embarkment which adds tremendous value to the process by avoiding airport trips and long drives to reach port of call
