Review summary

This was only my 2nd cruise and my first time with Carnival & based off of this experience I’m not really sure if I’d do Carnival again because I had such a better experience with the other cruise line, but I don’t think I’ll totally exclude them I just know it has to be a better ship. Outside of the not so friendly staff, limited variety of good food & drink, and confusion of the ship, my family and I had a great time with each other, brought us closer together & has us excited about our next vacation together so I thank you for that, plus I was happy to be away for my birthday!

The food was not the best compared to the food that I experienced on a previous cruise with a different cruise line. Too many inconsistencies with the lemonade & ice tea in the drink machines, some machines had the perfect blend of lemonade, and some it was more watery, the ice tea was never good. The table in the dinner room for elegant night wasn’t very big for the group of us (6) people and it felt tight to sit there. The best meal I think we experienced was the breakfast/brunch meal we had in the Silver Olympian Restaurant and the Guy Fieri burger spot was very good and fast to get food from...the buffets seemed to close very fast and didn’t offer a very good variety of foods, especially seafood and vegetables. There was always a very long line at Mongolian Wok so we were never able to experience that eatery and I think I really would’ve enjoyed that food but I think only one cook or no more than 2 serviced that station & that’s why there was always a long line.

For the most part the staff was fairly decent, some were more friendlier & accomodating than others & some were easier to understand. I think the housekeeping staff was way more friendlier than the food service staff.

The ship was confusing to get through...the windows in the buffet area were filthy and also on the balcony & the balcony, chairs & table itself. There was a good amount of rust on the outside of the ship so I could tell that it’s an older ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was very clean, the entryway was a bit tight but the main room had good spacing...the bed & linens were the best! So very soft & comfortable and enjoyable to sleep on.
