Review summary

This was the second time our family sailed the glory-first time doing western stops. While this thanksgiving sailing was a MUCH MORE Family friendly crowd (vs. last October which was a drinking party=not best vacation for a family) this boat still lacks in so many areas. Needs an upgrade, on board activities are basically non existent. Many ship areas are dirty, lots of rust and missing paint on upper decks. We selected the late dining as with the early you have to come back on board to wash and get ready for dinner you miss on island time but with the late dinner we missed the only family fun which was family game night show and missed the nightly family/kid movies which started at 7-730. The movies at sea are packed, every showing was "sold out" no chairs available if you weren't there at starting which just goes to show you there is nothing else for people to do if you aren't into the bar or casino scene or if you have kids with you. These movies should be shown in the rooms as well. We found ourselves in the room with nothing to do on a lot of occasions. Days at sea had some rain and then cabin fever really set in. The golf and sports deck closed at 5pm daily when there was 2+ hours of daylight left not to mention LIGHTS could be used. Again leaving little fun things to do. Carnival is a "fun ship"-I guess that only applies to adults who think spending money on bingo, drinks or the casino. If they took away the ice cream I'd say there would have been no "fun" on this ship for families who want to spend time together. We have done carnival the last 2 cruises and after this one it's time to go with another cruise line. I will give them this-they do seem to have the best port of any of the other sailings I was comparing for same sail dates. Just bring lots of entertainment if you are traveling with kids.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

dining room was fine, guys burgers great. buffet has no "normal" food for kids/picky adult eaters. Pizza is always a joke-they are never prepared for the crowd. all other cruise lines we have been on pizza is ready right when you walk up and chicken fingers/fries/burgers/mac and cheese/classic pastas are always available.

Onboard Activities

slide is a joke. hot tubs were closed during the majority of our week long cruise. sports deck closes at 5pm. there was NOTHING to do for families.

many areas need cleaning and painting.

Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin location was perfect.

Ship tip

dining in the platinum room-make sure you are NOT in the back. it was so bumpy and loud from the engines. I can't believe the poor wait staff has to balance all they do with those conditions.

save yourself stress and $$ and use the beach that is right at the port. was our "private island" stop, we could leave and go back on the ship for lunch and come back out. pay for your beach rentals on board-on the beach they won't rent to you unless you prepaid :(

Belize City, Belize

Cozumel, Mexico

must go to paradise beach-this was the best stop of any cruise we have done. $3 to get in pp and $15 pp to use the water park and all equipment. pool was amazing. beach is HEVILY rocky at entry-be careful walking in and suggest water shoes for kids.
