Review summary

I'll preface my review by disclaiming that we've recently travled aboard the Oasis and Alure (Royal Caribbean). Those ships are the standard of the world; the Carinval Glory is not bad at all - it's a normal cruise ship. The biggest PRO was that we could hop right on in Boston (where we live). The ship itself is a little confusing to navigate; it isn't possible to travel from one of a deck to the other. You'll need to travel up, down, across and over to another deck to get around. The staff are great, the food and entertainment are equally as enjoyable.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The people who travel on Carnival are usually families seeking value; burgers, fries and chicken finger types. So there's plent of that. The chefs do a great job at providing some interesting and beautiful dishes as well; where else could you try aligator or frog legs? So there's some pleasant surprises as well. The dessert buffets are fantastic.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were great and there's quite a bit to do. We were there to just relax so aside from dinner and the theater, we didn't visit the bars, nightclubs or other activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Cruise ship staff are synonymous with service. They're warm, friendly, respectful and go out of their way to make you feel at home. THANK YOU ELBERT (Dining room waiter), EMERSON (Busser), SUTA (Headwaiter), VICTOR (Cabin Steward). You're all fantastic.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Good sized ship for a 4 day cruise; didn't feel hemmed in. Layout: a little confusing to navigate the ship Condition: good, clean, well maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We hd a balcony stateroom; it was clean (a little dated) but comfortable. The bathroom was very big. We enjoyed this category of stateroom.

Pros: No flight required!

Cons: A non-destination
