My question is about upgrade offers. I received one from deck 7 to spa deck. Both balcony but what would be the reason move? I’ve heard many say all balconies are the same.

The Glory is not a Cloud 9 experience ship, so a spa deck level cabin gets nothing extra over the same category on a lower level. Cabin set up, decor, linens, and provided toiletries are identical to cabins in the same category on different decks. No spa specials offer for being on the same level as spa.

The spa deck cabins are all 2 twin/convertible to king bedding configurations…fine for two guests. Many cabins on deck seven include sofa beds, pullmans, or bunks which allow 3-4 guests in the cabin. If there are only 2 of you, they’re likely offering the swap to sell your current cabin to a group of 3+. For what it’s worth, the halls on the spa deck are very quiet because of the minimal cabin count and the deck is not a pass through to reach other parts of the ship. I prefer the spa deck due to its quietness and minimal guests passing by during the night/ early hours. Also, the showers and steam room are nice amenities since they’re so close by.

Be cautious and do your homework before accepting the “upgrade”. Sometimes the cabin upgrade is a cabin that isn’t ideal to most people. It can be near a noisy part of the ship, the view from the balcony isn’t ideal, etc. There is usually a reason why they offer this upgrade “out of the blue”. Not saying it’s not a good deal, just do your homework and check it out first 👍

@Mojito4Me, the Glory has none of those extra amenities for having a Spa Deck cabin. The ship was built before the Cloud 9 concept was ever even thought of by the designers. So no thermal suites, no thalassotherapy, and no special spa discount, not even Elemis products in the shower. So the "upgrade" is only a higher vantage point view off the balcony.

Toiletries in spa cabins include Elemis shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and soaps. Exclusive Access: Get priority access to spa appointments through a pre-cruise spa concierge. Discounts: Cloud 9 Spa suites come with unlimited access to the thermal suites and the thalassotherapy pool (if available).

Be cautious and do your homework before accepting the upgrade. Sometimes the cabin you are being upgraded to, is in a spot that people might not want to be. Under noisy, busy parts of the ship, or the view from the balcony isn’t ideal, etc. Theres a reason they are offering this upgrade “out of the blue”. Make sure to take a hard look to see if it classifies as an upgrade, in your opinion.

Make sure the spa deck cabin has a covered balcony roof. The top deck doesn’t have covered roof balcony.
