Embarkation

5 out of 5
With this Covid-19 world we live in now I’d have to say this was the easiest embarkation experience we’ve had on any of our three cruises. It went by fairly fast and we only had to wait maybe 20 minutes in the terminal after checking through security till they called our boarding group. Only drawback was having to wear our mask during the process. The muster drill is a freaking breeze. You just go to your muster station. You check in, then get a maybe five minute explanation of how to put on your life vest, and where to go if need be. It was done so fast. I really hope they keep this muster drill in the future.

Redfrog Pub

Stefan was freaking awesome!!! Great great service!! Stefan and his fiancé Ivana, who works at the alchemy bar are the absolute best!!! Get there for Happy Hour. You’ll be missing out if you don’t!!!

Alchemy Bar

5 out of 5

So my wife and I tried the Alchemy Bar on our first cruise on the Carnival Freedom in 2018. I ordered a drink from the menu and was unfortunately very disappointed in it. I actually thought the drink was horrible. It turned me off from the Alchemy Bar from that point on. When we sailed on the Carnival Vista in 2019 I avoided the bar. This cruise was fortunately totally different. I met Ivana who is engaged to Stefan from the Red Frog Pub and he was the one to tell me to go see Ivana. So after telling her of my experience on the Freedom, she asked what I liked. She asked if I liked Vodka, or Gin. If I liked my drinks sweet, sour, or spicy. She also asked a couple of other questions. After telling her my preferences she told me “don’t worry, I know exactly what to make you” She came back with one of the absolute best mixed cocktails I’ve ever had!! I couldn’t tell you the name of it, if it even has one!!! But I made damn sure to have Ivana write down the ingredients for it!!!I really hope Stefan and Ivana are on our next cruise on the Breeze!!

Guy's Pig & Anchor

1 out of 5

I believe this is now Guy’s Pig & Anchor. It’s not good at all. If your from the South and BBQ is a way of life for you then your gonna be disappointed big time. Their sauces have no spice to them despite their names. The mac and cheese looks runny. Their brisket or pulled pork was atrocious. And the only thing that was edible was the potato salad and I still thought it was dry as hell.

Blush Dining Room

2 out of 5

So on our second night at sea we went to our set dining time. We were brought to our table and quite honestly wondered why we where brought to a table that sat eight. At first we didn’t think too much of it till another couple sat down at the far end of the table. No problem. It was nice meeting them and chatting with them. And then another two couples came and sat down at the table. Same thing, it was nice chatting with them and getting to know them. So now our table of eight is completely full and all I could think is why? All of the other tables near by were nowhere full.A table of 12 right next to us had only 1 couple. Another table that sat 10 had three people at it. No other table within eye sight was filled. My wife and I couldn’t understand this.Service was super slow. It took a while to get our main course. Matter of fact we were still on our main course when the couple sitting by themselves at the table for 12 were completely finished with their entire meal.I had the prime rib and it was good. I would recommend it. I can’t remember what my wife had for her main course. She did order the creme brûlée for dessert and she wanted me to order the chocolate melting cake so she could have that too.

BlueIguana Cantina

You can not go wrong with some of their excellent tacos or taco bowls

Fahrenheit 555

4 out of 5

So our first night on board we did the steak house. Their service and food was good, but the restaurant itself is smaller then the ones on the Freedom and Vista. It actually felt kinda crowded compared to the other two ships.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Stefan and Ivana in the Red Frog Pub and Alchemy Bar respectively were awesome and really went above and beyond in their service to us!! I can only hope we get to see them again!!! Cruise Director Cookie is hilarious and so is his assistant. The running joke they’ve got going on about being married and having a son JJ is freaking funny!!!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship itself is in need of a fresh coat of paint. Some areas of rust are really visible near the basketball court. One of the sliding doors at the ocean plaza broke down and couldn’t be used half way through the cruise. We were told that the Carnival Breeze is going into dry dock in January for an overhaul. Some of the items of interest were mainly painting the hull in the new Carnival livery. And adding a bar in the deck 4 non smoking casino annex.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin steward I Made was great!! He always greeted us with a friendly good morning and wished us a great day!!! He always had our room looking ship shape right after we left for our breakfast!!

Ship tip

Stay away from rooms near exterior sliding doors. We learned this the hard way on the Carnival Vista. The rooms AC never can over come the heat and humidity from the sliding doors being opened so many times. You’ll see this on the Lido deck. Floors will be slippery with condensation after opening and closing so much.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We didn’t do an excursion this time around we just stayed in the port and window shopped and bought some souvenirs. Mainly stayed in port to also enjoy the happy hour on board the Breeze

Galveston, Texas

2 out of 5
We live near Galveston. So mot much of an interest or us.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
So for not having a full passenger complement it took a long time to disembark the ship. Everyone is told to take the forward elevators. And then I only saw four freaking elevators in operation. This is when chaos ensued. You’re all better off walking down the forward staircase unless you’ve got elderly parents or someone who has mobility issues with you.
